I booked a room with two single beds. When I arrived, they gave me an access card - which wasn't working. I went back to the reception, and they gave me a new card. This time, the door oppened.. but surprise : it was already occupied and a suitcase was open on the bed. I went down to the reception. The hostess did not seem to have faith in myself "This is not possible, you must have pick the wrong door". I noticed her I openned the door the card she gave me was able to open. I hate being taken as an idiot. Finally she decided to walk up to check and she concluded the room was still occupied as I noticed before. "I don't know how it is possible" she said while moving a few sheets. I answered her that I am not working in this hotel. I finally get a double bed room (I booked twin beds). The bed was small, the bathroom in a very poor condition. The shower was not closing properly and soon flooded the bathroom. Thus I paid slightly higher rates for twin beds(67€), I only get some random excuses. The hotel was also very noisy. I do recommend to avoid this place.

Don't do it.

This was a terrible room for the price. Small, no amenities, very cheap furnishings, super small bathroom. Great location but we know there are much better rooms available for much less in the same area. Keep looking.

This place is a dump. 2 star at best. Don’t bother unless you’re homeless. Worst reception you’ve ever seen with crap everywhere. Location is decent with plenty of good restaurants. The Tip of Paris hotels.

Nice Neighbourhood

Tiny hotel in a nice neighbourhood, the street is actually very famous for shopping. the room has a cute view but we found a condom a used one on the floor which was very upsetting when we checked in. the room has no air conditioner or refrigerator but it’s okay.

Not Much Sleepy at the Tipi

I stayed at this hotel due to attending the Ryder Cup at Le National in Paris. I had been let down by another booking of which meant I was able to source this hotel at short notice within the price bracket I had from my previous booking. The rates for this particular weekend whilst being more expensive than usual, were cheaper in comparison to others when considering the additional visitors to Paris due to the Ryder Cup. The good points were the location, very vibrant classic French area with a number of cafes and patisseries. Gare Montparnasse (train station) is a 5 minute walk further reiterating the great location. The staff were very helpful and accommodating resulting in my being able to check in early due to an earlier arrival. The shower was also very good which can normally be hit and miss in hotels. The bad points were no AC, poor WiFi and the room walls are paper thin. My room was located on the ground floor and aside from the circulation safety light shining through the window when someone walked up the corridor, I could also hear next door and above taking showers etc. Not so much of a problem for me as I had very early starts due to the golf but still offered a degree of broken sleep. In my particular room, the bed was also very creaky and whilst I understand the “you get what you pay for” notion I also expect a certain standard on the basics like comfort of the bed. If you can get it cheap enough and won’t be in your room a lot then I would consider staying here again but otherwise I think there is alternatives within the Montparnasse area that would be economically feasible given a bit of forward planning.
