Booked on booking.com and it stated by Grand Victorian Inn no prepayment, however when booked they charged our account for entire amount. When sent message asking why, no reply. Had to cancel due to family issues and got no refund. When ask why, they said it was a discount price with no refund. Which in the booking it never stated this. They did offer to use it at another time, however we just wanted our money back. They never answered my message as to why they charged our account, but was quick to answer the non refund of our money. PLEASE be careful if you book. Make sure your plans are solid and want be canceling. It looks as tho it's a nice place, probably would recommend as long as you don't have to change plans. Disappointing that money was taken for nothing. Attached the photo from booking.com that shows no prepayment for booking. Don't let this stop you from booking, just be careful.

A Genuine Charming Bed & Breakfast

We just stayed overnight, but took lots of photos and notes and plan to return with our bicycles. The innkeeper was a gem and the place was a genuine old time hotel converted to a bed and breakfast. The breakfast was great and the breakfast area was perfect for a bike club get-away!

So much to see and admire ! A very comfortable and historical home. Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious homemade food. We reserved the Joy suite and loved it. It was by the front of the house near the train tracks but we enjoyed the genuine train depot experience. We had fun on the porch with the Adirondack rockers and played card games. Perfect stop after the Mammoth Cave National park.

Hotel is dated and packed with lots of knick knacks. Zero frills and the front desk staff didn’t do much of an introduction after handing us the key and felt somewhat unfriendly. Avoid this hotel if you are a light sleeper. There is a frequently used train track less than 200 feet from the front door and the trains run all night, often blaring the horn. The beds were big and comfortable and had some great pillows. Our room got really hot. A/C is on a central thermostat that is in the hallway and not adjustable. It’s also under a main air duct, so it probably doesn’t read accurately for the rest of the house. They advertise TVs in the room, but the TV in our room was a 14” monitor against the far wall of our room. It was like the “Dinner Party” episode of The Office where Michael shows off his post-it note sized “plasma screen” in his house. Finally, our bathroom smelled bad. Moldy, mildewy smells invaded our nostrils upon opening the door.

This place was wonderful and we enjoyed the owners so much. They were the nicest folks. Great breakfast as well as the nice rooms. We recommend you check them out if in the area. You will not be disappointed.
