Great stay in Petaluma
Reviewed 7 december, 2021
Spent five nights here and had a great stay. Centrally located to all the wineries. Room was fine no issues. Petaluma was wonderful. 5 minute drive from hotel. Plenty of free parking. Many very good restaurants. Breakfast at hotel not worth the feee passes we had. No help made it very slow. Ended up getting stuff at local grocery store and heating up in microwave on first floor. Sat outside by pool. Too chilly to use in October.

After extensive research online I decided to book at the Sheraton mostly because it looked nice, its proximity to town and primarily because of the amenities, specifically the pool and hot tub. I made a reservation through the reservation desk for a Marina View King room with "Club Lounge" access where I was told there would be snacks/coffee. I then followed up with a call to the hotel to confirm that the pool and spa/hot tub were open and in working order. I was told that the pool was closed but that the hot tub was open and accessible; great, we were more interested in that anyway. Upon arrival, we went to scope out the hot tub to find that it was closed for "maintenance". When I reported this to the front desk agent she seemed unconcerned and asked who told me that (like I remember) because it had been closed for over a week. She said that she would comp us a free breakfast and I said we wouldn't be eating there but I would appreciate a discount on my bill since the amenities listed on the website were not in fact correct. She said she would have the manager call me - no one ever followed up. Also, the room was not in fact a marina view - it had a view of some sort of deck level below us and ironically the pool/hot tub that we could not use, and the freeway. There is also no fan or window in the bathroom. The "Club Lounge" had nothing in it - no snacks just water and soda, and the coffee machine, which is also how you get hot water for tea, was broken. The only good thing about this place is the comfy beds and the gentleman at the bar was very courteous. Overall very disappointed in the experience and would not book again or recommend.
Not worth the $$

Spent nearly $1000 on 2 rooms. Gave us two crappy handicap rooms. Front desk unable to lookup rewards number. Bar staff and menu are a joke. Hotel is 40 years out of date. Make the 10 mile drive to Sonoma and pay way less for a much much better hotel
Nice Location, Service. Needs Update

This quiet location is on a very small marina and adjacent to the Schellenberger Park Reserve, the latter of which is connected to via a short foot bridge. The hotel is conveniently adjacent to highway 101 Enjoy a peaceful, tranquil hike through the park meadow before a two-mile drive to historic downtown Petaluma for some action. The rooms are of decent size and include a safe that is large enough for a laptop. Only a tub with a gross, old-school rubber mat, and no stand-alone shower. There was a single sink and both towels and bath amenities of average quality. The king bed was extremely comfortable and the carpet appeared to be fairly new. The best part about staying at the Petaluma Sheraton was the breakfast with the marina view from the dining area. Also in dire need of remodeling, the restaurant offered one of the most delicious omelette that I ever had plus utterly delightful service from a sweet, white-haired, super-jovial server. This is a great location from which to explore Sonoma and Mendocino county wine countries, if you are seeking a full-service hotel.

Many things that come under- avoid at all cost. Had two rooms for three nights, finally got new sheets and towels the night of the 3rd. Went for a jacuzzi- but the jets didn’t work. Bar is always closed till 5 or 6 pm and closed again like right after 10ish. Breakfast is diner level but service is incredibly disorganized. Now- as to centrally located- no. You must have a car since everything is 2 miles away- everything. We were told our rooms were “Ocean” view— lol, it overlooks a canal and expressway.
