Felt like home!

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay here! The staff was awesome! We were meeting family (whom we hadn’t seen for 2 years) because of Covid and this was the place to stay! Rooms were clean and our daily hot breakfast was more than adequate. Trish, in the dining room was so friendly and always came around each table to see how everything was and talked to us she made us feel at home! Trevin let us know a great place for pizza delivery when we decided to eat in that night to play cards. All the staff was very friendly & courteous! Thank you Trish, Kari, Trevin, Jacob and Rochelle! Keep up the great work!
Where not to stay when visiting Petoskey.

Where not to stay? Here. While the location of the hotel seems safe, we were placed in a basement room beneath where the breakfast crowd is scraping and slamming their chairs across the floor. Paid to actually get some sleep here, but it isn’t happening. (This space should be repurposed for a storage area.) Would’ve been better off just driving home. :(
One Option in Petoskey

I booked this hotel as a last minute Labor Day weekend trip. There are not many hotels in the Petoskey area itself so I decided to give this one a try because it was closer to the state park. The hotel itself was not bad, I was not a fan of being on the "first floor" which was actually more like an apartment at garden level. When we went to the "first floor" hallway it felt like we were in a bunker of some sorts. The room itself was nice, no complaints with the beds, bathroom, or TV. We did have a view of the bay, however being at garden level meant that we were looking at a strip mall roof mainly with the bay far out and difficult to see. The breakfast services were fine with a lot of varieties: hard boiled eggs, waffles, muffins, fruit, cereal; however the seating was not enough. I had two small children with me, who needed a table but there were not enough tables, so we were relegated to the couch with a small end table and anyone with small children knows that this does not work well. The pool was a decent size, several families were able to swim in it at once while keeping their distance, but the hot tub was pretty small, so you would need to weigh the pros and cons of getting next to someone you don't know very well in there. Overall, I would probably stay at a different hotel in the Petoskey area, this hotel was decent for the last minute booking but in the future, I would look elsewhere for lodging.
Ok at best

Room had evidence of water damage, office chair in room was broken, bed was not comfortable. Only had one serving of coffee for the room. Breakfast was good, decent variety. Close to downtown. Pretty easy access.

The carpet freshener was so strong it triggered a migraine in me. The interior needs an extensive renovation and update. The carpet, elevators, bathroom toilet and tiles are worn out and dingy. I don’t recommend this Hampton.
