Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino Hilton Hotel

Reviewed 21 january, 2022

My wife and I just returned from New Mexico as a getaway. We spent 2 Nights at the Hilton Hotel at the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino. The interior of the hotel/resort has a beautiful Native American motif. The artifacts throughout are incredible. The entire resort is beautiful. The skylines, with snow peaked mountains, amazing to us Floridians. Our room (I can't remember the #, but it was 5th floor to the right of the elevator almost to the end of the many halls and the number ended in 38) was a large double queen with a gas fireplace (we used). The large balcony had a beautiful view over the back of the resort. We like rooms on the upper floors, but always despise the slow elevator rides; not the case at the Blue Thunder Hilton. We hardly noticed the elevator moving and before we knew it were at the top or back at the lobby. The nice thing was taking the elevator directly to the Casino floor. Covid rules are in effect. Restaurants and cafes are open but with limited schedules. Masks are required in the Hotel and Casino unless eating or drinking (not a big deal after wearing masks while flying/in airports for 6.5 hours). We enjoyed the Starbucks and really appreciated Laura and Annie (hope I have the names correct). The Starbucks was out of the Refreshers my wife enjoys but Laura and Annie whipped up a similar drink that my wife really loved; that was nice. The Hotel recommended several local restaurants, we ate dinner at Sopaipilla Factory Pojoaque. and the food was great (get the Carne Asada and the Sopaipillas are great). The staff were warm and welcoming. We needed extra towels so I stopped at the desk to get them. They called Housekeeping and the towels were delivered to the room before I got back. The resort is located about 10-12 miles north of Santa Fe right on US285/84 and you won't be able to miss it. The hotel itself is quiet. We noticed that the hotel room thresholds were granite; we've never seen that before. We will book this again! We plan to take our grandchildren to this winter area for some winter fun (At least 6 ski resorts within 1.5 hours) and will make Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino our place to stay.

Beautiful Views

Reviewed 12 january, 2022

We spent one night at the Hilton, had a gorgeous view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River. The staff at check in was gracious and helpful. The only slight complaints from my side would be the bathroom doors, which had a bit of a gap, and the positioning of the parking garage, which was a bit of a complicated route from the hotel lobby. Otherwise, the hotel was comfortable and we had a great night’s sleep.

Tim is great!

Hotel is excellent. Tim really provided a great service and really was helpful during my stay. Tim helped me with my stay and returned my rental car keys to the Avis counter located in the hotel. Overall great service.

Hotel doesn’t have valet or room service as advertised. Hotel had an odor throughout the whole place. Was never notified of the states vaccine mandate as of Jan.3, 2022 and how it would impact our stay. This place sucked. Never again.

This hotel has really gone down hill…

Reviewed 10 january, 2022

Numerous issues with the electronic keys. Room smelled terribly of smoke. No handle to turn on shower, broken toilet seat, clogged sink drain, room not clean or dusted (hairballs and crumbs on floor that were not ours.) Such a shame that we had to experience these conditions over such a busy, important weekend for our sons wedding.
