FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY AT THE FRONT DESK. GUESTS BEWARE!!

Reviewed 19 march, 2023

***UPDATE*** I contacted the hotel AGAIN on 3/17 after never getting a return call from the manager to my multiple voicemails and spoke to a Jennifer Flanagan at the front desk who asked me to email my confirmation to her email that showed I booked this reservation with points. She stated that she would give this information to the manager when she got in later that day. Well, instead of hearing from the manager, YET AGAIN, I checked my credit card statement and there is ANOTHER pending transaction for 245.57 on 3/18!! I contacted Capital One (my bank) to get clarity on the transaction and was told Cambria Hotel Downtown Phoenix has tried to push the transaction through AGAIN. This is AFTER sending them proof of an error on their part and NOT HEARING FROM THE MANAGER since I began contacting them to try to get this rectified on 3/15. I will NEVER be staying here again as they are participating in fraudulent activity while refusing to call me back. I have traveled and stayed in MANY HOTELS and this has NEVER happened to me before. I am beyond furious. I will make sure I keep every email I have sent them to ensure I win my dispute against them with my bank. Other guests, BEWARE. --- The hotel was really nice and in a great area. I considered staying here if I ever visit Phoenix again. However, I am now reconsidering due to issues I’ve had since check out. I stayed 3/10-3/12 and upon check out, my invoice (see image) says $0. I noticed a pending transaction for 245.57 on my credit card on 3/13 but I didn’t give it any thought because I assumed it was a possible room deposit that would be reversed once the transaction cleared. When I checked my account on 3/15, the charge had been posted and that completely baffled me. My room was paid with Choice points and just like the invoice states, I should’ve been charged $0. I reached out to the hotel directly on 3/15 and 3/16 where I was transferred to “leave a voicemail” for the front desk manager (Cheryl I believe is the name) as apparently no one else could help me rectify this issue. Well, guess what, no call back and I left 2 very detailed messages. At this point, I’ve had to dispute the charge with my merchant which I HATE to do because these disputes take way too long to be solved. It seems to me that Cambria Phoenix is running a shady business and I am extremely disappointed. Cambria Phoenix was my 3rd out of 4 hotels during my southwestern US vacation road trip and it’s the ONLY hotel that has given me any issue. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Bad Service and Stoled money

I do not recommend this hotel, they charged in my debit card 100 USD for incidentals and they never returned it back. Now they do not want to recognize the charge, I have been communicating whit them through email and their response are rude and they ignored my last email.

Great management and team!

Reviewed 28 december, 2022

During the holiday chaos and cancelled flights, we found ourselves stranded for an extended stay. The management and their team went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and were quick to respond to any special requests or needs. Their overall positive and compassionate attitudes won us over. The rooms were very clean and perfect for traveling families. Consider this location if you need to stay near the airport.

Great place to stay

Reviewed 31 august, 2022

I was very pleased with my stay here. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The vibe was great, and the views were awesome. I was looking at other name brand hotels in this area, but very glad I chose here. They have two restaurants in the hotel, and many more in walking distance. The area is very safe. Yes there were some homeless people, but not a lot compared to some downtowns I stayed in. The restaurant downstairs has a very diverse type of crowd. Some people prefer to stay in their bubble and get uncomfortable with different music, races, ect. If that is you, you might not like it here. The only negative (the reason for losing a star) is that the Wi-Fi did not work on my cell phone or IPad . I do not like using hotel internet because it can be hacked. Besides that, if I ever return I’d choose this hotel again. I can’t speak about parking because I did not rent a car. Hotel fairly close to airport.
