Home away from home

The location is perfect…in a quiet area not remote in the countryside but safe enough close to other buildings, close to amenities and to the Piazza Armerina old village with a lot of historic site and places ti visit. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, well-lit and aired with enough space for a baby to crawl around and heated so it’s very cosy even in winter. Breakfast was great and various with fresh local produce too! Our baby boy loved the fresh omlette daily. The surroundings of the place is paradise, there’s a pool especially for summer but greenery is all around with farm animals that you can enjoy too - goats, sheep, donkeys, horses, dogs and chickens. There’s a BBQ area too and parties can be organised with custom games for kids or adults. There are Greensand stone naturally sculpted rocks decorating the outdoor areas all around that were excavated there which qas fascinating. The interior decor is fantastic, especially when the proprietor narrated stories about specific pieces and the reasoning behind these decorative art, exquisite job! It was a fabulous holiday with our 11-month old son and we were very well taken care of by the property owner who treated us like family, that’s why you will feel at home as soon as you arrive! We highly recommend it to couples, families and friends as you will surely spend great quality time and if you roam around with your car, you’ll have it there with you inside the property. We loved it and we cannot wait to return back to La Quercia soon enough!

High standard B&B Piazza Armerina

Very pleasant host, great breakfast and rooms with very nice atmosphere. This is a place where details matters and all together gives you a high quality experience. We will recommend this place if you need a base to visit Piazza Armerina, Aidone, Caltagirone.

Truly relaxing

Reviewed 14 july, 2020

This was the first time we stayed at this B&B. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, nicely and originally decorated. Service given by the owner was first class, very attentive and most helpful, giving us best hints what to visit, where to eat, directions. Breakfast was simple but abundant, with fresh fruit grown on site. In short an excellent accommodation and we highly recommend it.

Rural setting on the edge of town

Reviewed 27 april, 2019

Excellently located on a small lane a short distance outside the main town, just off the Via Tasso. Don’t let your satnav take you by a more circuitous route down narrow lanes. Salvatore is a charming one-man dynamo who not only prepares a very good breakfast and looks after his horses and donkeys but while we were there was overseeing the construction of some new rooms. Although the builders started early in the morning we were not disturbed by them. We took his advice for where to eat and enjoyed some excellent Sicilian cooking at the small family run Trattoria da Gianna in the old town. The interior decoration that he has designed with the help of a friend lends a unique quirky flavour to the beautifully converted stone farm building. Nothing but praise for what Salvatore has created. A tip for anyone driving from Piazza Armerina to Catania: the SS288 by way of Aidone is generally a good road that gives you a stunning view of Mount Etna (weather permitting) as you drop down from the high ground and then passes through attractive well-kept farmland. Better than pounding down the elevated autostrada.

Charming property and host, amazing breakfasts

Reviewed 21 september, 2018

We stayed here for two nights so we could visit local historic sites. Salvatore and his mum were both friendly, generous with their time and helpful with advice on what to see in the area. Our room was well equipped - very comfortable bed - and quiet at night. Breakfast was amazing for a small place; Salvatore made the cakes himself and tasty omelettes and bought fresh croissants each morning from a local bakery.
