Advertised indoor pool but concealed that pool is not heated; parking is $25 but concealed that free parking is abundant when stadiums are not in use; room assignment was directly adjacent to highway when occupancy was sparse and an abundance of other rooms were available.

I stayed at this hotel on a recent trip to a Pirates game. Location is excellent. You are within walking distance to the ballpark, food, and downtown. We also enjoyed and a hot breakfast on site. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and we had everything we needed. If you are in for a game this is a very good choice.
Beware, your reservation may be cancelled for higher profit by hotel

We had a block of rooms booked for my daughter wedding and 3 of them were canceled according to the the hotel by the husband. (That didn't happen) My sister-n-law called the day of the wedding to ask a question about parking and was told that her husband called and canceled all 3 rooms. Now in a panic, she had to call around and luckily was able to find a hotel that had 3 available rooms at almost double the rate of the group rate of the Holiday Inn Express. The only thing I could think of since it was a holiday weekend and the room rates were going for double of what our rates were. They canceled our lower profit rooms and gave them up to make a higher profit. I asked to speak to a manager and they said she wouldn't be back until Tuesday. (Holiday weekend and no management!) I also placed a call (left voice mail) to Jay Caiafa, COO of The Americas, with my concern, to date no response. He apparently doesn’t want to talk to his customers. Another person in our wedding party had their car broken into to and rear window smashed in the hotel parking lot, 20 steps away from the front door. My suggestion, stay at the Springhill Suites by Marriott, its just across the street.
Fantastic location and views but need to fix a couple of things

Being right next to the PNC park and a very short walk across the bridge to downtown, the location is ideal. I consider the location even better than downtown hotels because our room and some of the other rooms at the hotel offers a view of the downtown skyline, something one cannot get when staying downtown. The rooms are great also. However, the hotel was quite full when we were there due to a football game, and the hotel had difficulty keeping breakfast items refilled during breakfast hours.
Great location for a ball game

We are St. Louis Cardinal fans who came in for a night to catch a game at PNC Park. The location could not have been more perfect. It was a Saturday, so the streets were closed and there was a street fair happening right out front. The one-minute walk to the stadium was tremendous. Watching the postgame fireworks from our window was perfect. Hotel seemed new and well kept. Breakfast was exactly what you'd expect from HIE, gotta love the cinnamon rolls. Maybe the best part was the room darkening shades! I had no clue it was crazy sunny when I opened the blinds from my pitch-black room on Sunday morning.
