Solid Pittsburgh Hotel…

My father, my two daughters and I booked this property because of it’s comparatively lower price than downtown hotels. We went to the 9/26 Steelers football game and we wanted to stay in a nice area that wasn’t too far from the places we wanted to visit. The Bakery Square area is quiet and safe. My daddy and I walked around the area Sunday morning with no worries. The front area of the hotel is also well lit if you walk around at night. I would not walk in the area behind the hotel at night, however. Breakfast was adequate…your typical continental offerings. We enjoyed the outdoor seating at the nearby eateries as well as the hotel’s patio area. Panera Bread is on the bottom level of the hotel & a Starbucks is a few steps away (same plaza). There are a few shops within walking distance and a Target that’s literally a one to two minute drive away. Parking was convenient in the garage. I think $16 per night with in & out privileges is a fair price to pay. A crosswalk connects the hotel to the parking garage & LA Fitness (complimentary for hotel guests). We slept comfortably and the front desk was responsive when we called down for clean bath linens and bed linens for the trundle bed. Speaking of the trundle bed…we found corn cheese puffs and a girl’s hair bow under while fixing up the bed (reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). On game day it took us about 35 minutes to reach the general stadium area and another 25-30 minutes to find parking; then 15 minutes to walk from our parking to the gate (for more waiting), so definitely plan accordingly. The same drive was around 20 minutes the night before when we left from our boat ride in the same area. The drive to the zoo & aquarium was about 20-25 minutes. We would choose this hotel again.
Squeaky BED and NO help

We were paying over 275.00 a night. For some reason, I took one look at the bed and sat on it. It not only squeaked it burped. I immediately called down to the front desk and asked to change rooms. They offer to give us more points and $40.00 off. I want a good night sleep, which would not be possible on that bed, not $40.00 off and a few extra points. I was there to go to a party and play golf, not to have to 2 sleepless nights. They sent two people up who acknowledged that the bed was very loud and probably a previous guest had broken some springs. Why, the housekeeping did not pick up on this is beyond me. No rooms, completely sold out. We were to leave to meet friends for dinner. The Marriott called one Marriott, who wanted to charge us a bigger rate, and later found out was in sketchy part of town. A friend, who was staying at the hotel, canceled and they still would not give us that room. We are gold members of Bonvoy. We called the other Marriott, after we found out that there was a room to give them our CC info, and we were put on hold for 20 minutes. We finally called the Hyatt and got a very nice room. I would avoid this overpriced hotel at all cost!

Perfect location in bakery sq- easy parking- convenient to Carnegie mellon. Large , spacious clean rooms. Love how they separate toilet from shower in 2 separate rooms, like in Europe. Very clean. Love the set up with living area with sofa, table and desk. Feels like 2 rooms. Helpful, friendly front desk staff. Microwave and fridge in room an added plus.

Stayed only one night, we had a room facing the Port Authority, it was bright and loud all night, didn't sleep well due to all the bus noise and lights from the parking lot. No shampoo was left in the bathroom. Breakfast was slim, some cereal bars, yogurt, fruit cups, OJ and water. I understand we are in a pandemic, but if a restaurant can serve sit down meals, why can't a hotel? On top of all your hotel fees, you get a $16.00 a night parking fee, that still shows a $40.00 debit on my card. All together, not worth what was paid. The only good thing was that the sheets were clean.
