Fabulous stay

Reviewed 19 september, 2021

We’ve had a fantastic stay. The team was super friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms with a balcony which was a very good size, clean and the bed was super comfy. We spent most of the time upstairs by the infinity pool enjoying the great views, cocktails and the fantastic service by the bar staff. The location also is good - there are several very good restaurants just walking distance from the hotel or if you fancy a little bit more buzzing atmosphere you can get a taxi to the closest city Rethymno only for €9. Well deserved 5 stars.

Summer holiday

We had a wonderful time visiting Atermono for the first time, such a beautifully designed interior. Staff were lovely, especially Evgenia who was down to earth and friendly, whilst still being professional. Perfect place by the roof top bar to watch the sun set whilst sipping a few drinks. Kids loved it and the prospect of using the outdoor theatre. All in all a great break in Greece, thank you!

Fantastic location, lovely hotel - some improvements needed

Good Points - Warm welcome with a glass of prosecco which was a nice touch. -Very good location, there were approx 5-6 local decent restaurants and a bar above the local supermarket which was really nice. It is a short ride, 10 mins, into Rethymno town which is great fun and costs approx 9 euros each way. I recommend the old town which is more authentic and great restaurants. - The hotel is 3 years old and they have clearly spent a lot of money on the fitout. Everything feels new and in good condition. - The gym is surprisingly good and good equipment. - The infinity pool up at the bar was lovely and the sun loungers were very comfortable! - The food up by the affinity pool was very nice and good selection. - The staff were friendly. - The rooms were clean and tidy. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with private pool - split level which was nice, something to note though that the sun disappeared by 11.30am on the room terrace. - The beach is a 1 minute walk if that and it's lovely. The hotel do have there own sun loungers for the hotel guests only which is nice. - The beach has water sports and some nice restaurants. Points to improve on - The 'garden' area in front of the hotel seems communal and not linked to the hotel. For example, other families from other hotels or people heading to the beach would use it...they do not speak to eachother as the main hotel is stunning and boutique and the garden is very basic...do not eat in the pool bar as the food is not great (unless you are looking for a quick cheap cheese and ham toastie). - A number of particular individuals and nationalities reserved sun loungers in the mornings by the affinity pool; this is a real bug bear of mine! Luckily there were enough sunbeds but if the hotel was busy this would have been an issue. There should be a sign up stopping this. - Breakfast needed better labels and was quite basic for a 5 star hotel. For a 5 star hotel you would expect an omlette stand and more variety. Milk alternatives would have been nice such as Almond Milk, Oat Milk. - It would have been nice if the bar staff up by the affinity pool were walking round and taking orders. When you ordered they did bring the drinks to your lounger which was nice but it would have been a nice touch to have them ask every so often (maybe we were just spoiled where we stayed in Greece before!) - Bigger towels are needed as the pink ones given do not cover the sun loungers. Not a big issue but just something we noted. - Just an FYI, the rooms did not have a full length mirror or a mirror by the bed which has a dressing table. Overall we would recommend the hotel. It's more 4 star and a tad on the expensive side. We are comparing this to a 5 star where we stayed in Greece before.

My husband and I stayed there for some nights in August 2020.Our suite was great and all amenities too! The beach was very good and no need to travel around to have a good swim! Beautiful sunrise cocktails by the pool and very good breakfast! I will definitely go back!

Perfect hotel with incredible staff

I‘ve been to Atermono with a friend for 7 days. It is an amazing hotel with direct access to the beach. The room was very nice. The whole hotel was clean in all areas. All the food was very tasty. The staff was kind and friendy all the time. A special thank you to Giorgos, who is one of the greatest bartender I‘ve ever met. And also a great thank you to Chrissi from the reception, who was always present and perfectly organized. I‘m looking forward to come back next year.
