The best B tier ever!
Reviewed 22 january, 2022
The best bang for your buck. This resort is huge, pools everywhere, food everywhere, drinks everywhere, people everywhere, big stuff. Was it good? If you want a relaxing vacation without any worries, yes. If you are looking for S tier quality this is not your place. The place is perfect for young couples who want to get away for a week but not for those on a honeymoon. Good for family vacations but not good enough for a trip of our lives kind of deal. The food is good but not gourmet, including the restaurants. The drinks are acceptable but nothing memorable. The place is a solid B tier, that’s the conclusion. Compared to the competition in the same price range, this one is the best, that’s the B, for best.

Very clean resort! Stuff is super friendly, not beeig pushe to get tip! Manager is profetional as you would accept it. If you have any issues address it privetly! They would do anything to solve it. Special thanks to Isaias for his outstanding professional manners! He could deserve a higher management position. Samson family from room 71111
Amazing second stay ****

We travelled to the Princess Resort for the second time with my husband and daughter of 10 from Jan 2nd to Jan 12, 2022. Our stay was just as amazing as before. And yes, you have to take into account that Covid has taken a toll on everyone, so need a bit of patience when travelling during these times. The resort is huge, so talk to the concierge or someone to get a good handle on the place on day 1. We stayed at the Platinum suites and had an amazing ocean view. The platinum lounge staff were incredible and so were the premium drinks as well. The beach at the resort is beautiful, the sand is soft and the water is warm and perfect. Great entertainment and bar/snack bar on the beach. Also the water spots seem wonderful - we haven't tried yet - maybe next time. There are 3 main pool areas, the platinum pools by the tequila bar - they have activities there starting at 10 am and the entertainment staff are fantastic. Great for kids. Great service all day at both swim up bars and around the pool. This was our hangout each day. The center pool seems to be more for the teen/20s crowd. and the upper pool is a quiet pool area with no entertainment or bar. There is service there I remember from last time. All pools are connected through the lazy river pools that run through the resort. Lower pools have a taco stand from noon til 5 PM everyday. Amazing tacos - great for lunch. The Middle pool has a burger/hotdog stand. We love the snack by the pool as you don't have to leave to go to the buffet. There are water aerobics, water polo, beach volleyball, latin beats classes, yoga, stretching, rifle shooting etc, either at the beach or lower pool each day. The schedule is available online daily. The kids club is great. For dinner, they have about 10 a la carte restaurants, so you can eat in a different place each night. Our favorite was the La Vageria, La Fleur and the Mexican. Each night there is a kids show at 8 PM at the theater ranging from trivia to mini disco. At 8:30 PM they have a fantastic show each night for an hour with live bands, singing, and amazing dancers. The shows are a must!! Then following at 9:30 there is a band, or some other live music, or dj in the main plaza. The beds are comfortable, the service is great, the food is really good for an all inclusive. Sunwing reps were amazing dealing with all the covid stuff and so helpful with any bookings of tours etc. The gym is big and the spa is beautiful with an amazing pool with water massage etc. Can't wait to go back again next year!!
Great honeymoon spot

We had planed our honeymoon to Costa Rica and then our airline changed its plans and we had to book a new trip in a matter of an hour. Picked this all inclusive very last minute. Everything turned out AMAZING. Hotel rooms may be dated but everything is very clean and the staff is excellent. We upgraded to platinum and its worth every penny. We had a jacuzzi tub on the patio and in the bathroom along with a walk in shower. We ordered room service for breakfast every morning along with afternoon snack time. Platinum area also has its own private pool and lounge. Also a roped off section on the beach where you get drink service by the best server ever! We booked a la carts for supper each night. Fav was the sushi, and the french but they were all pretty great. There is a little cart that drives you to the main lobby too as its far. The driver was so fun and friendly too! you can take a taxi they organize to go into Playa del carmen a couple times a day. Its super touristy but a good place to get souvenirs and nice to get off the resort for a bit. I would say the amazing staff and food is what makes this resort worth it. Thanks for a great honeymoon. stay was Jan 1-8 2022
Don't waste your vacation time and money on this hotel

This trip was one of the worst all inclusive experiences we've ever had, and trust me, we've been to plenty! You get more bang for your buck in other hotels in the area such as "Ocean Riviera Paradise" which is next door to this hotel. We booked for 8 nights during Christmas and New Year time and here are the problems we experienced: 1. This hotel is old and the rooms are outdated. The piping/flush in the rooms make loud noises. There is no quality control to make sure everything works in the rooms before they check you in. The bathroom sink in the first room they gave us had a leak which created a puddle of water in the bathroom. The first day, I didn't even realize there was water everywhere and I slipped and cut my hand open! Then they gave us another room which had a similar problem with the shower. Water would come out of the shower into the bathroom area. The mini fridge was placed inside a wooden cabinet and there was always a puddle of water inside the cabinet. Also, 2 of the ceiling lights in the room kept going on and off. The safe did not work and they had to replace it. 2. The only ocean view restaurant in the resort (Chill Out) is not part of the all inclusive for food or drinks. You can't even use the day beds in front of the restaurant unless you pay $10/person which gets you drinks as well. 3. WiFi connection is super spotty and keeps dropping. 4. Room service is not part of all inclusive, unless you book a Platinum room. It also takes forever to get the food. We used room service twice and both times took almost 2 hours for them to deliver the food! 5. Housekeeping is not easily accessible. I needed an extra trash can for the living room area (there is only one trash can in the suite) and a box of tissue. I called everyday for the first 4 days. They would tell me that they sent it, but it never came and I just gave up! 6. The only alcoholic drink in the room's mini bar is Tecate beer. The only other beer they have in the resort is Dos Equis on draft. 7. This is what annoyed me the most and ruined the whole experience for us! We were told by the person who checked us in that laundry was included in our package, but we ended up paying over $100 for 2 laundry services when we checked out!! So, long story short, don't waste your vacation time and money on this hotel. This resort is just not worth it!
