Terrible / Do not book any resort owned or operated by H10.

To start, we paid extra to have the “privilege” package for our honeymoon. (Not worth the upgrade cost. We were treated the same as everyone else). We arrived at the hotel and immediately sat for over an hour to listen to a presentation before they took us to our room. They advised us to return the next day for a 90 minute presentation on their resort and offered rates. This took more than 2 hours. We were given a coupon for massages in exchange for our time sitting through this presentation. When we went to cash the coupon in, the spa stated it was the wrong coupon and wouldn’t accept it. When we went to guest services to get the correct coupon, they insisted it was already given to us. They made a photocopy of it and gave it to us only to say the spa may reject it. The spa called guest services with us standing there and were told not to accept the copied receipt we were provided by management. (Refuse the sales pitch and tell them you want to go to your room). Once at our room, found the hot tub did not work or get hot, the room thermostat did not work, and the room was extremely cold. The bedding was damp from the humidity, floors & walls were old and not well maintained. Then at 1:30 in the morning, woke up to the hot tub leaking into our living room. It took an entire day for services to move our room, which was upgraded. In our new room, the balcony leaks were plugged with what looked like a tampon and still leaking onto our balcony. Front desk never brought us new beach towels or champagne glasses as requested, despite them saying they would. Our balcony swing was taken down and never re-hung even after the request was made. When we showed up to dinner reservations at the Blue Moon, my wife was refused service because she was wearing black flip flops. The Butler Service was not worth it as it was very apparent he had no authority to make changes or help us with issues we were experiencing. We were told by staff that if they did not receive positive reviews, they were not going to be allowed to work at the resort any longer. This tells me that most of these reviews are false. A couple that stays at many all inclusive resorts stated this is a 2 star resort, not a 5 star resort as advertised. To say the least, terrible experience and will not recommend. Spoke to or overheard several others with the same experiences. While in the lobby overheard a new arrival stating not only did he have to wait over an hour to get checked in, but his room was not remotely clean. Managers will not help you and pass responsibility on to someone else who always seems to never be available. Do not subscribe to any of the services or extra trips or experiences at this resort. When you make it to the beach, you are constantly harassed by employees trying to sell you massages, jet ski rentals, parasailing and excursion trips despite being told no several times. When you spend thousands to go on vacation, you just want to relax. Another couple who has done 11 all inclusive resorts said this was by far the worst they have stayed at, and I would completely agree with them. Bring your mask because they will not let you up to the outdoor bar, on the outdoor trolly, or in restaurant without it. Despite being told at the beginning when booking this trip the return COVID test would be included, the resort charges you $35/each USD. You have to have a negative test to return back to the States. The only service that was respectable was drink service at the beach and in the pools, and room service (related to food delivery). The food was very good when we were able to sit down and eat. Several items like certain meals related to lobster or steaks and wine are an up charge and no longer provided as part of the all inclusive atmosphere. This resort is owned by H10 hotels and obviously they do not understand customer service and hospitality. They just want your money. Do not stay at any resort owned or operated by H10. To add to the extremely terrible experience, due to having the privilege status, we were given one free lobster meal ( which we have a coupon for). When we went to check out of the hotel, they would not allow us to check out without signing a receipt charging us for the lobster. My wife wrote on the receipt the disputed charge and signed the receipt. The staff told us they would not give us a check out ticket and made us sign a new receipt with no writing on it so we could leave. They refused to give us the previously signed receipt. Anytime you do anything at the resort extra, they make you sign a receipt so when there is a dispute they just say, “you signed”, but will not let you leave on your (already paid for) shuttle without signing, no matter the charges. Then they said someone would call us about the disputed charge and they never did. Terrible experience, book at your own risk.

We are only day 6 of 14 and we are so happy we chose this resort. We booked the Privileges Swim Out and it is totally worth the extra cost. Eduardo is our butler and he is amazing! He has helped us book our a la carte restaurants, answered any questions we’ve had no matter how trivial and given us very good advise for adventures outside of the resort. If you book the Privilege, the best breakfast option is the Privilege lounge…amazing service, hot food and everything is served fresh. We’ve enjoyed all of the a la carte suppers so far… nothing bad to say about any of them. Do know that due to Covid you will need masks. Entering and exiting the restaurants, main lobby, walking up to a beverage counter they do ask you wear a mask. We have enjoyed our afternoons at the pool bar in front of our room. We have enjoyed the awesome services fromYasmin and Mariano. You will have to look for them as they are moved around the different bars of the resort every 15 days. If you book this resort, you won’t be disappointed! Enjoy

My husband and I are on day 3 of our stay here. I made the mistake of reading the reviews online prior to our arrival and was honestly expecting the worst. I even considered switching hotels cuz I was that dismayed by the reviews. I'm so glad we didn't switch! Our room, Swim out junior suite, is fabulous! A/C works great. No moldy or mildewy smell in our room. Just the typical humid smell u can expect anywhere tropical. We got checked in super fast. Our luggage was close to an hour getting to our room which is fine but I was eager to jump in our swim out 😉 Our poolside waitress, Yasmin, is amazing! Wish I could take her home with me cuz she's so sweet and pleasant, and somehow our drinks just magically appear without us even realizing it... starting to think she may be a ninja with her stealthiness 🤔 Pez Vela- great food and excellent service. Blue Moon- great food and excellent service... food was a tad slow coming out and maybe it's due to us ordering additional cost items. If u have a big appetite, order more. Portions are small but presentation is beautiful- this goes for all the restaurants. Casino- my husband won at the roulette table 🥳 Privilege lounge- once again excellent food and service. Natalia is an absolute delight as is Elizabeth. . Rudy is 😕 and that's the only staff we've encountered there thus far. Lastly our butler, Eduardo; I cannot begin to say enough good things about him. He stays on top of making our reservations for resort restaurants and is also making our off resort reservations and organizing the transportation. He's very honest with recommendations of which places are best to eat, we had surprise truffles and champagne show up to our room last night and I can't help but think this was Eduardo's doing 🤔😉 Cleaning staff are so kind and doing a great job! I saw so many reviews of people complaining about the local wildlife- 1 person even complained about a spider monkey trying to be their friend... so far I have met a coati and 2 cats, there's still hope for a monkey to wanna be my friend. To the ppl complaining about the cute wildlife, maybe a resort situated in their environment isn't the place for u. The beach: staff work so hard every day to keep it clear of seaweed which can't be easy given the weather fluctuations. All in all I see people working their butts off trying to appease and accommodate to demanding tourists who should just be enjoying the luxury of being catered to by hardworking individuals. With that said, I'm going to enjoy the remainder of our beautiful vacation with the rainy moments and all and be grateful to be here. Cheers!
Best beach experience with Maria Maria!!

Our favourite spot on the beach is directly outside Pez Vela restaurant and top server experience with Maria. She set the tone from our very first day. We didn’t know what to order so she suggested a mango margarita with tajin rim. This was the perfect recommendation and most delicious drink we’d ever tasted! It was especially impressive since my boyfriend (who is not a big drinker) actually finished the drink and we ordered another one (and another). Maria is always there when you need her and never stops working to make sure guests are happy. Her warm vibrant energy is something special and it makes all the difference in a vacation.
