Beautiful Resort in Paradise

Reviewed 26 january, 2022

This place is amazing. Incredible experience, beauty, service, beach, everything. Pros: - Best spa ever (according to my spouse) - Beach / sand / is incredible. - Amazing drinks everywhere, amazing food. - Zapote on a Friday night was the most fun I've had in a long time. Live DJ, trumpet, other music. So great. - The room was stunning, huge, full of amazing treats. (I had beach lagoon view). - Service is incredible everywhere, including butler. Cons: - Very expensive -- even though I knew it was expensive, it still surprised me. Casual lunches and dinners quickly got to $300-$500 or more for a few tacos, a salad and a couple cocktails. - This is my weird personal observation, but in the ocean they put out these barriers for wave protection erosion I assume, and they are very ugly. I didn't really think the ocean view was particularly pretty. - The golf was beautiful, but no one enforced any sort of etiquette or speed. The group we were paired with was unpleasant, didn't follow the "rules" and the round took nearly 5 hours. - A few groups at the beach / pool restaurants strangely brought their own speakers (even though there is high volume music at the restaurants), and blasted that, creating this chaotic, very non-relaxing environment on multiple occasions. No staff seemed to do anything about it. - Service was amazing! But periodically there were gaps where you couldn't find anyone for 30 minutes or an hour.

Perfection

If you wish to visit a resort where they treat you like family and the service is outstanding then Rosewood Mayakoba is your place. We have traveled the world trying to find a hotel that tops this one - it doesn’t exist. The rooms are amazing, the food is incredible, and the people are truly the best part.

The service is phenomenal and that is what distinguishes this resort/hotel from others. The setting is beautiful and very private - it gives the impression that you are the only one there. There are different areas, multiple restaurants so you are never in a crowd. The staff quickly know you and your preferences, you are greeted by everyone with a smile and a willingness to make your stay a pleasure. The food options are varied and each one prepared with care and quality. There is always authenticity and quality without fussiness. Everyone on staff deserves to be recognized for their level of service and commitment to quality.

Perfection!

This was one of the most memorable stays at a resort we’ve ever had. From the hotel pick up at the airport serving us coronas and snacks throughout our journey to the butler service. The staff are incredible, Diego at the Beach went out his way everyday to make sure we had everything we needed. The food and drinks throughout the resort are amazing- the ceviche was our absolute favourite. We stayed in the lagoon suite which was beautiful. The housekeeping were great and our room was always extremely clean and well stocked. The mezcal welcome gift was a wonderful touch and the guacamole and chips is delicious! The butler service was a lovely touch and we always had everything we needed , with even unpacking and packing our bags! It was my birthday during our stay and our butler made sure it was even more special for me. They had the room decorated with balloons and a cake. Overall a outstanding stay and we can wait to come back!

Great resort and service but the food is really bad

Really nice grounds, beautiful spa, excellent service and great location. But the food is terrible. We had to start going to Banyan Tree and other resorts within the Mayakoba ‘city’ to get a decent meal. If the restaurants could improve this woild be one of the top resorts around. I
