A good option if staying several days

This is a nice older property in a leafy neighborhood. There are about a half-dozen two-story buildings spread across several well-landscaped acres (including some lovely old redwood trees). There are outside entrances to the units, so no issues with noisy hotel corridors. The second-floor suites are accessed via outdoor stairs, so if that is an issue, request a ground-floor unit. The studios have a full kitchen, and a sitting area with a sofa, chair, and desk. The bathrooms are old-fashioned, with a toilet and tub-shower combination in a room separate from the sink. Although the furnishings are dated, they are clean and comfortable. Our mattress did sag a bit in the center. The pool area is nice and the staff is friendly and efficient (our report of a sink stopper not working got a maintenance person to our unit in five minutes). As other reviewers have noted, there is a freeway adjacent to the property, but the soundproofing is such that only the occasional jake-braking semi was noticeable. The average rating of four stars is just about right for this property.
Timers on lights ,no cups in room, its a franchise who care nothing about service

I kept reading reviews and though I have not seen that here. Well, I have traveled all week and had some dirty clothes. Some need to be cleaned from a dinner outing with a client. I also asked the Front Desk agent, Shawn, if they had dry cleaning services. I asked twice as many have not offered due to covid claims. He stated please make sure you bring it down tonight. I du just that and thought no to check on it in the morning since Shawn seemed to be a person working at the hotel. I ignored claims they did not care rooms up kept, no to-go cups in the room, slamming off doors as they had an issue here. Ignored to go breakfast serving an omelet in a cup? But though it's ok what is everyone talking about, well I arrived at the hotel at 4:00 pm and stopped by the desk on my way to my room. I asked about cleaning, Shawn was there and said he would check. Well, I get to my room and guess what they forgot. Ops sorry sir....Wow...I am meeting with a client in a dirty suit so the comments about this hotel do have some validity, ts a franchise. I am from Marriott corporate years ago and can tell you this hotel is not terrible but it cuts corners. It's like a budget hotel in service in Marriott dressing. I cannot recommend it. I am a Titanium Elite, which means not only did I work for Mariott I stay in Marriott all year long about 325 nights annually in hotels so when I share my experiences with you its forms a unique perspective. They simply don't care just show them the money, each light is on a timer, no to-go cups to save money, I guess the reviews I read in disbelief are true. As such. I am off to the nearby Embassy Suites for next week's meeting with clients. Perhaps they will care and be hospitality-oriented. I also could care about price just meet the Marriott standards and follow through like a quality hotel, not a Motel 6.
Absolutely Disturbing Experience

We scheduled and booked a 2 bedroom suite at the Pleasant Hill location about 2 weeks in advance. I am a Marriot Rewards Member for the last over 10 years but my first experience at this location. I proceed to checkin and was advised that I must sign a Release of $500.00 to cover any inappropriate incidences such as "throwing a party, excessive garbage or illegal activities that occur in your room. Well we weren't there for that reason...so no problem. Well- then the front desk manager states well you are also signing that in the event a guest calls in any type of random noise complaint coming from your room, you will not receive a warning, but you will lose the $500.00 deposit. WtH!!! My question to the rep was"so anyone can randomly call in and state we are laughing too loud after 10pm and you will keep my $500.00 deposit?" Without any type of due process or notification??? His answer, "YES"!!!!
UMMMM-I know that you have lost quite a bit of money during COVID however this is a bit WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL!!! In addition I asked why this information is not posted on the website when you are booking a reservation? Of course no response. So I immediately gathered my things and cancelled the reservation and went to the Hilton in Walnut Creek-less than a couple miles away where there was No Noise complaint form to sign. Needless to say, I wont book this location again!

I’ve been a guest here at the residence for over a year do to covid and not traveling staying safe. when i say the staff here is great from maintenance, housekeeping, front desk staff and managers. very professional team always there to assist any hour of the day simply the best. there's not to many places that you can go and feel safe and welcomed and actually relax . just wanted to say thank you to the team here at residence inn they have been the best through this pandemic . and how can i forget the most important part the rooms are always super clean. def not a party hotel but accommodates excellent to upscale business person on work trip or family get away. shopping and food is very close and easy to find. if in the area this is the best place to make home during your trip!

Location is fine. We had a 1 BR unit. It had a well designed kitchen, sitting area, bedroom and large area with sink and facilities. The room was very quiet at all times. The AC worked perfectly. We could get the room as cold as we wanted. There is a nearby freeway, but we couldn't hear traffic from inside the room. Staff was friendly and responsive. Staff couldn't have been nicer.
But, the room had a dingy carpet and somewhat threadbare furniture in the sitting area. The king bed was fine. The kitchen was minimally equipped, but fully servicable.
I took off a star for the carpet and furniture. It's time to refurbish a bit.
But, I'd stay there again. Quiet and cool are very important to me and this room did both well.
