Nothing to write home about

Reviewed 20 september, 2022

We stayed there only one short night. The hotel is huge and I found it alienating. I did not like the size , while on the other hand the room was O,K, - not more, All other 4 nights we stayed in a hotel close by - The Lince which was much better. Our agent booked B&B for us but as we left early for our flight they first did not want to prepare a packed breakfast for us. Only after pressure from our agent they prepared something modest.

Spacious room!

Reviewed 4 september, 2022

We had a triple room which was very spacious and clean. There was a menu in the room which showed the variety of food that they had available. These dishes were reasonably priced. There was a mini bar in the room (€2 for a large glass bottle of coca cola). The outdoor pool area looked lovely (although a bit chilly in November). The main town was about a 15-minute walk away. Would recommend staying here.

A touch of comfort and excellent breakfast at a decent price

Reviewed 24 august, 2022

Hotel is located a 20 minute walk from the waterfont and the obvious tourist attractions. Our good-sized room was comfortable and well-furnished. The excellent buffet breakfast provided a wide choice of hot and cold options which changed on a daily basis. Reception staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Hotel parking is expensive but there is plenty of free street parking available in the surrounding area. Rather than trekking down to the tourist orientated restaurants, there are a couple of eateries nearby which provided generous, good value dishes aimed more at the locals - Cozinha d'Arlete and Conteira.

Nice hotel but far from everything

Reviewed 31 july, 2022

We were transferred to this hotel due to the booking mistake by our travel agent. We stayed here for 4 nights. Unfortunately the location of the hotel is really bad for anyone who doesn’t have a rental car or doesn’t enjoy walking up the hill multiple times per day. We got to stay in a suite, which was spacious and clean but other than that, the experience was a bit cold. Breakfast was surprisingly dull and options were limited. No veggies and everything had industrial taste. Reception staff was nice. Breakfast staff quite rude in their manor, when gossiping about the clients and laughing at them. Hotel has a tiny pool on a roof, gym is worn down. Would not return.

Perfect hotel for our first visit to the Azores!

Reviewed 9 june, 2022

Front desk personnel were helpful and spoke English. Location was nice; Hotel was in the city and was about a 15 minute walk from the amazing restaurants and downtown. Rooms were very clean but definitely needed some modern updates. Would definitely recommend a room with a balcony! Perfect hotel for our first visit to the Azores!
