Great place to stay with family

Reviewed 19 august, 2021

Old manor house located near Ponte de Lima, very well preserved. We stayed at an apartment with 2 bedrooms with private bathroom each, kitchen, living room and terrace, which are outside the manor house and allows you to have lots of privacy. Breakfast is served in the main building, where is the library, TV and games rooms. Swimming pool is clean and big enough and the terrace allows you to have sunbaths all day long. Is a very quiet and comfortable place, where you can rest and easily reach main villages nearby and enjoy luxurious nature and landscapes of Gerês. We recommend it and would stay there again.

Gorgeous Estate

Reviewed 21 september, 2017

Stayed here last week for 3 days. The owner, Tristan, was most patient awaiting our arrival as he was busy with grape harvest. He was pleasant and informative as he showed us around. It is beautiful here in this large estate built in the mid 1700's. Rooms are spacious and outstanding decor. View from pool area over his vineyard is beautiful and peaceful. You hear the odd rooster crowing and churchbell ringing on the hour. Nearby town of Ponte de Lima is a nice way to spend your afternoon or evening with tasty inexpensive restaurants. Try it out for sure!

Lovely Estate

Reviewed 7 july, 2017

As part of our hiking the Portuguese Camino, we stopped here for a sumptuous lunch. Our host, Tristan, gave our group a tour of his estate which has been passed down in his family since the 18th century! A typical, Portugese, family style meal was served outside under huge shade trees; it was simply delightful!

Perfect and beautiful

Reviewed 7 february, 2014

The owner of this house (which dates to 1750) has converted three bedrooms into a beautiful B&B. The rooms are enormous stone constructions so nice and cool in hot summer weather. The pool on the terrace has a beautiful view over the valley to the west and there are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. We had a great breakfast every morning, and the owner kindly provided us with a free bottle or two of the local (delicious) "Verde" white wine in the afternoon. We can't recommend this place enough! The nearby town of Ponte de Lima was very nice to visit as well - including a Roman bridge over the river.

Solares de Portugal

Reviewed 23 august, 2021
