The breakfast here was excellent. My room was superb with a large terrace and great sea view. Hotel housekeeping do not waken you at ridiculous hours to clean the room which I found was very considerate.

Excellent place to visit

Our first time in Portugal but not our last. For the last 10 days of September the Pestana Delfim was an excellent hotel to visit and as mentioned in a number of previous reviews it does need updated but it met all of our needs and was very clean. We had a family superior room which had very comfortable twin beds, a pull out couch, large bathroom, plenty of storage space and a large balcony. The view from the balcony over the pool to the sea was breathtaking and being south facing it had the sun most of the day. Excellent place for a lunchtime snack and a cool beer out of the fridge. The bathroom has double sinks and a very powerful shower with plenty of hot water, some toiletries and a hairdryer. The breakfast provided plenty of choices both hot and cold and was very tasty each morning with champagne available as a nice touch. We enjoyed a few Portuguese cakes and biscuits each morning with some excellent cappuccino and an espresso or two. The pool area was well maintained with plenty of sun beds to choose from with some in the garden with trees providing shade but there were a limited number of umbrellas. There is easy access to the excellent beach although the hill is quite steep. Alvor is about a 20 minute walk along the boardwalk or 15 minutes by the road past an excellent pub which serves beer cheaply. Access to the many restaurants and bars involves a climb up a hill but they are worth the effort. Lots of differing meal choices and no surprise in a seaside town lots of excellent fish choices. As said previously the hotel needs a wee bit of updating and we were told that will be done over the next few months and we can’t wait to return in 2023 to see what the newly refurbished hotel looks like. Thanks for an excellent visit. Karen and Ernie.

Amazing stay

Just back from staying here for a week. 5th time in alvir 1st stay at the delfim Hotel. And we were blown away. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Wasn't sure what to expect before arrival but we were looking fir something special for our 20th wedding anniversary and it diddnt disappoint. The breakfast buffet is out of this world. So much choice abd the cava was a special treat. The dinner buffet was OK lots of choice but with all the restaurants in town only ate here once. Diddnt find the cost of drinks to be much more expensive than in town. And still much cheaper than the UK. Rooms cleaned every day and bed sheets were changed mid week. We were on the 12th floor with an amazing view sea to the right it was beautiful to watch the sun set. My only complaint is I can't find any sign of the hotel on uk booking sites to come back next year. Hoping it's just too early.

Holiday at Delfim

We are a couple in our late 50s, the walk into Alver and up the hill to the hotel can be a problem if you have walking difficulty’s, we only stayed for B&B so cannot comment on evening meals, there was plenty to choose from at breakfast, the hot section was Luke warm which was disappointing as everything else was good, plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, the beach is one of the best in the Algarve and beach bars are also very good, Paul.

We stayed at the Pestana Delfim for 8 days . The check in was quick, very pleasant and informative . I had to wait for over 2 hours to gain access to the room but was given an area to store luggage and change. On arrival at the room which was very clean except for the balcony ( destroyed with bird droppings ) ..we had paid for a family room but this was set up as a twin room , with pull out sofa bed . Reception dealt with every issue immediately, Even offering a new room which I declined . The receptionists in this hotel are super . They deal with every issue in a very efficient & helpful manner . The views from this hotel are marvelous but the location of this hotel does not suit people who do not like walking . A short walk to beach but with an incline , about 20 minutes walk from Alvor by boardwalk or a little less by road which is very busy & no footpath on certain parts of it . Taxis are plentiful & only take about 10 mins and cheap. Breakfast is really good with lots of choice , plenty of food & service , gets quite busy at peak times. No water in rooms but there is a small fridge so you can purchase in supermarket & keep cool. Water in hotel can be purchased in bars but expensive . Overall we enjoyed this hotel , customer service is exceptional , pool bar menu needs some better choices , pool area gorgeous , dinner buffet ( tried once) , was good . Alvor has some marvellous restaurants on the beach and in town , in particular if you like fish . We had a very enjoyable time , thank you Delfim team .
