Very good option in Porto Alegre

The location of the hotel is practical, it is within walking distance from the historical center, the campus of UFRGS and a student nightlife district with some nice bars and restaurants. The immediate surroundings, however, due to its location on a major road and surrounded by run-down buildings, are not very nice and also not safe at night (during the day, however, it's no problem to walk around). The room was nice, the bathroom equipment a bit dated, but clean and functional and the breakfast offered a variety and healthy and less healthy options (the chocolate cake was a positive surprise!). What I did not like was that it was not possible to open the windows properly in the room and also that it was not possible to access the rooftop terrace, which I hoped would offer a nice view over the city.

A hotel according to its price. Simple, clean, good breakfast (nothing special), friendly staff.
External room service (seems like they have a deal with a restaurant and it works), varied options for mini bar's snacks and some pillow options.
Regular price for an ok hotel.
Clean Rooms, Mnimal Hot Water

The hotel is located in a okay area for the day, however it is recommended not to go outside at night. The rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable, and the room was well lite. The bathrooms are small and clean, however there is little to no hot water when you shower. The gym has two treadmills and a weight machine, however one treadmill was broken. There is a AM/PM next door to the hotel so you can get water and snacks. Overall, for the price it was okay.

The Comfort Porto Alegre was the hotel we stayed at our first and last night while in Brazil. Nice room, helpful staff, great breakfast and central location in the city.
There was a question on our bill regarding the online reservation price and what they wanted to charge when we showed up. Don't know if it was a mis-understanding with our host, being that we did not know Portuguese.
