NEVER COMING BACK - terrible staff
We have been never treated in such a rude way in ANY hotel. The staff of this apartement (I guess the owner´s wife) was extremally impolite and treated us badly. After showing us the apartament she asked us to pay 2€ per person per night which is a tourist tax. When we asked about the receipt she said that she woldnt give it ti us, if we ant to get it we should go to the town hall - all that happened on Friday night and we were leaving on Monday morning. That is why we said that we will pay unless she give us the receipt. The lady got really angry and said "if you dont pay you will not sleep here, pay me or go out" all that shouting at us. Then she added that everybody pays and that 2€/night/person is not a lot and if we want to stay there we must pay now. I wanted to check that this info was on the website but she didnt give us time to do so. She took the keys and literally kicked us out of the apartament. All this situation lasted around 30 minutes and was really stessful for us. Once OUT ON THE STREET she said that we can pay tomorrow early in the morning, next she called her husband and then started apologising. Thus, If you want to start your holiday in an awful way this is a place to stay. so dissapointed!
Basic but fine
This accommodation is located a few metres away from a metro station of the same name. The hotel in itself is fine, despite the fact that smoking is not allowed, the corridor smells of smoke. The first room we got was really small but then we were moved to a bigger one. As this room was facing the main road, sleeping was difficult. There is no breakfast on offer but plenty to choose from. The location is ideal for those that enjoy walking.
Disaster
Total disaster! If you have chance to pay even 20€ more about hotel, please do that! Staying in this hotel felt like staying illegally in somebody's home basically. This place don't feel comfortable at all and customer service is not nice. Peace and love, you have to really do something.
Good value and handy for the metro
I stayed here for three nights and was quite happy with everything. My room was clean and serviced daily. The decor was a bit tired but quirky, the bathroom and shower had been partitioned to fit into the room so were a bit of a tight squeeze. The rain shower was a great touch though! The window opened onto the street, which was noisy and the hotel smelt of smoke on the first day. There was a fan to cool the room, I never tried the TV. The lady (I think she was the owner) didn't really speak much English but she was very helpful and cheerful and we able to work things out pretty well. I was a little disappointed that I would have to pay to use the room safe though. She did let me leave my bag in my room on the last day until late afternoon so I only had to carry it around for a few hours. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside and there is not really anywhere to park but the metro stop is only meters away. It took about 30 minutes to walk down to the river and about 5 minutes on the metro so the Andante card is well worth it. For what you are paying it's a good deal. A little out of the way for the main tourist destinations but easy traveling and perfect if you just want somewhere to sleep whilst exploring Porto.
fantastic place
We were so happy about this place, the woman, probably she is the owner, is very nice and helpful. Everything was so clean. The bed was so comfortable. It is very close to the metro station, it takes 3 minutes to be just in the center of the city. If we will go again, I hope we will, I will love to stay in this place again.
