I visited with a group of female friends all 50+, first time visiting Porto. We stayed in the Seculo soft which is part of the Seculo hotel but next door. From the minute we arrived the staff were extremely welcoming & helpful. The rooms were basic, but pristine and modern. It did feel cold initially but once we figured out the heating system we were fine. We had breakfast which again was basic but adequate, the bread rolls & cakes of which there were a great selection were all very fresh and tasty, there was a good selection of fresh juice and fresh fruit, and the usual continental meats & cheeses. The hot drinks are in large flasks, the hot water wasnt always hot but the staff addressed this when we complained, the coffee was excellent.
For the price this hotel would be hard to beat, the only negative is that it's a bit off the beaten track and doesn't really have any bars close by.
Nice small hotel in the center of Porto. Friendly and helpful staff

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean, as well as the bathroom. The breakfast was good, in terms of the ranking of the hotel. Espresso during breakfast is available upon request and was quite good. The safe in the room was unusable because it did not have a lock. Overall, good hotel for the price.

Clean basic Room very small but GREAT VALUE. Outside does not reflect the inside. Close Proximity(about 400m) to Marquez Metro Station. NO USB Connections in room but has Computer room.
Free Breakfast was TOPS, fresh baked pastries, delicious breads, boiled eggs, cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruits(honey dew melon delicious), juices, coffee(REALLY GOOD), yogurt, cereals.
No coffee or tea in room but had SAFE in air condition room.
FYI watch out for PICKPOCKETS lines in and out of TRINDADE Metro, my Review of Thai Beach Club Restaurant Vilamoura gives you some insight.

Great location, only 15-20 minutes of walking to all main tourist attractions. Onsite garage parking for free was great. When we arrived, I was so positively surprised with receptionist attitude, Johanna was so nice and helpful, she has explained us everything, recommended the restaurants for dinner, helped park the car, too bad I cannot give more than 5 starts for the staff attitude. All the people we have met during our stay were extremely nice and friendly.
The room was very clean, fresh towels every day, housekeeping was doing amazing job.
Breakfast - well, I cannot express well enough how surprised I was with the selection! There were different fresh local pastries every day, selection of cold cutters was great as well.
To sum up, if you are looking for a hotel in Porto with great value for money - this should be your first choice, I will recommend Seculo to everyone I know. This is definitely not a 2* standard, but much higher! Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.
