At first appearance you couldn't even tell that there's a hotel in their location because the front of the hotel is shutdown, the main entrance is on the side of the building and the color of the hotel building is dark Grey giving off an abandoned building look at first glance. Once inside the room we noticed it was cleaner and bigger then we expected so that uplifted my spirits slightly. But then the light on the left side of the bed started to flicker on and off by itself. Quickly we saw that every time we got on the bed the light would flicker, still its a little disturbing, also there was white stains on the side of the TV stand. Finally THE POOL IS FALSELY ADVERTISED! THE POOL WAS AND STILL IS CLOSED FOR THIS SEASON! FALSE ADVERTISING NO FREE BREAKFAST! FALSE ADVERTISING NOT 1 PICTURE ONLINE ADDED UP WITH THE REAL LIFE OF THIS DARK AND GLOOMY HOTEL! WE GOT "HOTEL-CATFISH" SMH 🤨

This place has HOPE!

HOPE...being the front-desk girl who was amazing! Besides being professional, kind & proficient at her job, she proved to be a force to be reckoned with when an inebriated couple ( early in the evening) were having a spat outside. She handled it swiftly. We happened to be outside smoking at the time and it was a thing of beauty. She was firm, reasonable & when the male started to get cocky..she shut him down so fast! The hotel itself is in the midst of being remodeled but the room we were in was clean, quiet & comfortable. Truck parking available and at a very reasonable nightly rate. Frig, microwave, coffee-maker, hair dryer..everything you need..and a decent Diner right next door. We stayed 2 nights & will definitely stay again if ever in the area.

There was food in the fridge from prior guests, bathroom had markings on the walls, no towels, no toilet paper, non smoking room smelled like smoke. Pool was closed and looked like a swamp, everything is dirty and there is an awful sewage smell throughout the place.

It's tough traveling these days even though it seems an end or, at least a slow down, is coming to the Covid-19 pandemic. I was visiting the Pottstown area for 3 days. I should have done some more homework and expanded my area to look for a place to stay. But since it was listed under AAA with an average rating I figured it would be fine since I would only be there to sleep. I don't care that a continental breakfast is no longer offered and I don't care if maid service/housekeeping is minimal (trash pick-up and fresh towels). What was disturbing was some of the people staying there appeared to be long term residents vs people traveling. It was kind of creepy to walk by a room where the door was open and several people sitting inside. It was also located in a not-so-desirable part of town. I don't know of any travelers who do that. The room was relatively clean and included a microwave, refrigerator, and in-room coffee. Most of the flooring was either tile or a "wood" laminate, except a throw rug of possibly the former carpeting (nasty) was by the bed, I suppose so you don't step on the "cold" floor when you wake up. The ceiling in the bathroom, which was clean, was falling apart, perhaps from a former leak from the 2nd floor. Plenty of towels but they were well worn. The front deck personnel was very friendly, however, the door is locked and you have to have a good reason to get inside. He said it was because of the pandemic but after seeing the area and the room it was probably for protection. There seemed to be a lot of activity at night, i.e., people arriving at one or two o'clock, lots of talking outside, you could hear TVs, car alarms going off at 1am then again at 1:30am. At least the fan in the room was a steady drone so it masked the outside activity. Overall, it was a cheap enough place to stay for my purpose and I don't plan to return to Pottstown any time soon, but I think in the future I'll expand my search to find a better place.

We stayed on the second floor, our room was newly remodeled, spacious & beautiful. A lot of the hotel was being renovated, & there were no signs around the hotel with the hotel name. The breakfast was poor, muffin, water, granola bars. I know @ Covid there are problems doing breakfast but this was kinda pitiful.
