Nice location and building. However the price is too high compared to other accommodations. The room had a bad smell since we arrived and the cleaning were not done daily as declared instead in the service.

Underrated gem in Smíchov

Reviewed 2 august, 2021

The hotel is well hidden on Petrinska street in Smíchov. The street is quiet yet very close to Stare Mesto, Presidential Palace and other attractions. The amenities are clean, well stocked and overall a very cute little hotel. The rooms come in various sizes from relatively small 2 person to very spacious 4 person rooms. The pricing is very competitive especially when you take into account the advantageous location of the hotel. Perfect for long stays if you want to have apartment to cook, relax and sleep on a quiet street. One small malus - our internet connection was quite poor but considering we spend most of the time outside the room away from the net, so it didnt affect the quality of my stay.

Visit to Praha

Very good location. Although you have a tram stop very close, you can walk to the old town. There also are several convinience shops nearby. The apartments are modern style inside a historical building. The staff is friendly and kind.

Pre allocation room checks required

Reviewed 1 september, 2020

The room I upgraded to (superior room 503) had no electricity when we arrived late at night at 22:30. I called to report but we was not offered an alternative room straight away but instead was asked to wait 30 minutes for a maintenance man to come out. We waited patiently and He arrived at 22:55. WE then waited until 23:45 while he ran round knocking on other rooms on the 5th floor to gain entry to see if he could access the source which in the end he couldn't so, after losing even more time of our first nights stay I had to make a further call to explain and to ask for an alternative room. The alternative room should have been done straight away as soon as I had reported the issue and also given the time of our arrival and that I had already given notice of our ETA the day before by email to which they responded. Rooms should be checked before allocation to guest to make sure everything is how it should be! This should be standard practice! Furthermore to add insult to injury, the room we was given in the end (room 303) was a much much smaller room in size with much less facilities than the original room which I consider as a downgrade yet I was still made to pay the cost of the upgraded room czk 4241 (£146) for the 3 nights stay, this is very unfair and would gave expected some sort if compensation for the inconvenience, a complimentary breakfast for the duration of the stay would gave been great but alas, nothing! We was very disappointed as this spoilt our first nights stay and It was our first experience of Prague and although there is no doubt Royal Prague City Apartments is a beautiful hotel, our experience did cast a shadow over our short stay which is sad.

Lovely apartment overall

Reviewed 18 august, 2020

Lovely apartment and perfect for a couple who don’t want to eat out every night with a very spacious kitchen with fridge, oven and even dishwasher. Location is perfect on the quieter side of the river but just a 20-30 minute walk over the bridge to the main old town square. However, there were a few niggles with our stay. The main light in the entrance right through the door didn’t have a light switch (that we could find anyway!) so the room was dark and we had to bring one of the bedside lamps through on a night. Worst of all in our full 4 night stay we were only provided with two rolls of toilet paper. Despite our room being cleaned on day 2 and 3 (by which point we had run out) the cleaners didn’t think to replenish the TP but did provide us with clean towels! Good job there’s a Tesco just up the road.
