Stayed as at a wedding locally
Reviewed 22 january, 2023
Stopped here for a couple of nights as we were at a Wedding in the area. The room was clean which to me is most important however the TV was very small and could not be seen from the bed as it had a footer on it which also creaked a bit when you turned over during the night. Staff were really friendly including the groundsman who was a really nice guy. We ate in the resteraunt on the first night, food was well presented and also hot and well cooked. I have thought about the rating I have given but just to explain why I did not give higher. I found the service lacking to be honest, there were plenty of staff on the first night but focused on the Rotary Club meeting on. Had long waits at the bar to be served some drinks and no one asked during the meal if everything was ok or we needed anything. Breakfast I found really basic.. A small selection of cereals or a choice of fixed hot options. For a resteraunt venue and yes the breakfast is included in the price, I would have preferred to pay for extras such as beans, hash browns or black pudding. On the last day there was a shooting party in there and again they seemed to get the attention rather than the few guest parties staying there. Also the sausages we all had were only cooked on one side & had to ask a few times for things like orange juice to be topped up or more hot water / coffee as the party was emptying it all. Not the worst place I have ever stopped at but with the Service issues I experienced I would not stop there again sorry. I can understand the need for regular custom from groups like Rotary Club & Shooting parties I witnessed the fussing they got but at the expense of the paying guests. We discussed this at breakfast on the last morning with the other parties who stayed there for the wedding and we all had the same opinion.

Very nosy made to feel like we were an afterthought shame but we will not go back. Food very standard. Mattress uncomfortable and TV small. Wallpaper pealing off in bathroom. Lovely location and dog friendly

Snow covered hills.

An old manor house type hotel set in large and beautiful grounds and surrounded by hills. Warmly welcomed and found all the staff both approachable and helpful. Our room for which we paid a small surcharge, had period furniture and an electric spa bath and was warm despite freezing temperatures outside. There was a fair choice at breakfast although presentation within the room was slightly haphazard and I did n't find a saucer on either of the two days we stayed. There was also a rediculously small dispenser of coffee which required a constant top up but on the plus side you were asked precisely how you prefered your food cooked. Evening meal had a fair choice on the menu with vegetarian options and all the food courses were were extremely good and affordable. Variations off the menu were also catered for without question. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Parking was plentiful, dogs are welcome and the hotel has its own drive off the road. All in all we would definetly stay again hopefully in the summer.

Loved our short stay here. Run by a lovely family. First class service. Comfortable room with beautiful garden view. Absolutely wonderful food and such good value. We didn't have time to explore the area but there seems to be lots around so we will be back.

Disappointing Gourmet Break at the Ferraris Country House Hotel.
Reviewed 30 october, 2022
Booked a Two Night Gourmet Break with Red Letter Days at The Ferraris Country House Hotel. The hotel was chosen from reading the reviews on Red Letter Days website which were saying that it was a very good place to stay. We were very disappointed with most things about this experience. The mattress was uncomfortable and lumpy, the hot water went cold quickly, the TV was very small about 24inch, all the rooms need updating to a good standard. The hotel seems to be very under staffed and I cannot say this was a Gourmet meal break it was more like what you get down local pub so not worth the price paid.
