JUST A ROOM, an expensive room near Princeton
Opinión escrita el 21 de decembre de 2022
Room decor is dated. Dark mahogany wood and beige bathroom. It’s an expensive room and we stayed in the most expensive one. Nothing special. There’s no room service or help with bags up the many stairs. Breakfast is just ok. There are better options on Route 1. We are hoping the new Graduate Hotel across from the university will be modern. Time will tell. For now the room at the Peacock Inn is just that. An expensive place to sleep. The food wasn’t spectacular. The plating was boring and the pairings were fine but not great. Dessert needs help. Not creative or unique. Overall the food has become unremarkable at the Peacock Inn. It used to be quite innovative with the menu changing with the seasons and with locally sourced vegetables and proteins.

Great B&B style Hotel, close to town center
Opinión escrita el 3 de decembre de 2022
This was my first stay at this medium sized Inn in Princeton. I normally stay at the more central Nassau in but they were booked, so was put in the Peacock by the University. It's a real gem, about 300 yards down the road from the town square, so easy walking distance and is actually a bit closer to the Dinky train stop to Princeton Junction. The rooms are well appointed, clean and modern, but maintain the Princeton New England feel to them at the same time. My room had a shower and no bath. There are stairs and I didn't see an elevator, but there are plenty of staff to help if you need it. The real surprise was a well-appointed bar with draft beer that seems to stay open as late as the last guest wants it to. It's also cheaper than the Nassau. Parking can get tight, but there is, I believe, valet parking. I found the position quieter than the more central Nassau, so if you don't mind the short walk to the main shopping and dining area, then it's a great place with character and charm.

High Price, Tiny Rooms, plenty of stairs, no help, so-so breakfast.

Rooms were super tight. No place to put dopp case in bathroom . Shower controls a nightmare. No coffee maker in room . No elevator and no bell person. Front desk person helped upon arrival, but a different person didn’t even look up when I struggled to carry cases down the stairs and lugged them to the car. Continental breakfast was okay, but limited sitting area. All in, for a lesser price, stay somewhere else , get a large , equipped room, enjoy the elevators and warm breakfast.

Fine for a one-nighter

Lovely Inn. Centrally located. Pleasant staff. Room 303 was tiny, but ok for our 1 night stay. Reminded us of NYC hotel rooms. Should have asked for help carrying suitcases up 3 flights. Self serve breakfast included croissants, muffins, fruit salad, yogurt, cereals and oatmeal.
