overpriced, rude service

We were hopeful about this hotel, sadly didn’t read these reviews prior before checking in because we were in a rush. The AM staff was nice, especially the bellboy, however the worker doing check-in upsold us for a room and didn’t share specific information about things like wifi, check out time, or the breakfast situation (mentioned a lot on these reviews).
There is no breakfast included, and the pre payed breakfast is different than the giant lonely buffet that no one is eating. The hotel seemed empty of guests, but we were actually overcharged by about 100 pesos for the night. In USD not a lot, but shady seeming. When I brought to the attention of the night worker, he said it was “close enough”. I felt condescended to as a woman, and the entire interaction even with my partner was entirely rude and disrespectful. They don’t care about customers, and as other reviews said, probably get enough complaints that they don’t care.
If you get a room that overlooks the pool, be aware that loud music is played until about 11:45pm and starts again around 8am. Housekeeping starts knocking early and keeps knocking. And we also had an exterminator knocking and spraying into rooms starting around 9am.
Maybe someone is having a good experience here, it we wouldn’t know because it seems empty. The booking.com price slash makes sense, but we were too nice and thought to better support the hotel and pay directly ( then overpaid by a lot). This hotel fully looks like a nice place that does not live up to its exterior at all. Do nit stay here, there are so many other places with people that actually care about guests having a good experience.
A hidden gem in downtown historic Puebla!

Our group's stay was absolute wonderful! The management staff as well as the the food and beverage staff, was truly amazing. This is coming from an industry veteran who also managed 5 hotels for Marriott.
The Hotel San Pedro is incredibly located, with historic, clean and excellent accommodations, as well as a food quality and variety, that surpasses the international chains in the outskirts of the city. The price to value ratio beats any overpriced competition!
Special thanks to Angelica, the General Manager and the Chef too, whose name escapes me! Our group was ket happy thanks to them and their team of professionals. Our catering events were stupendous! All local covid protocols were provided without any inconvenience to our group! We have been using this hotel since 2004, and we have always been happy. Also, we were impressed to see that the Hotel San Pedro, used the covid non-travel period as a time to upgrade and refurbish everything, to more elegant and modern facilities, while still keeping the historic Spanish flair.
If you are traveling to Puebla City and are in need of a historic location near to everything, then do yourself a favor and stay here!
Clean, friendly staff ang good food if you need to stay near the city center

Clean hotel, quaint in its own way with a very good staff many know English and good food. It can get a little noisy out in the streets in the middle staircase. If you’re close to that you’ll hear every step. Inside rooms over the pool is probably the quietest.
Not a good experience

I asked for a quiet room unopened e the ground floor as a solo woman traveler, the man at the desk Luca Garcia
Was not helpful. As a single woman he had a machismo attitude. Be careful here.
He put me In A corner dark room next to the pool pump. Where the cleaners put the brooms and cleaning objects.
Do not stay here! Many wonder places to stay in Puebla he doesn’t respect women.
I’m as very kind and afrertracing tired.
Great location, nice surroundings, terrible hotel.

Elevator from hell; you don't know if it is going to make it or not every time you get in.
The rooms are in a U shape building around the pool. We stayed 4 nights and every night I had to call the reception to tell them that there was a lot of noise, loud laughs, people yelling at 12:00am (midnight) when the pool hours are from 9:00 am to 8:00pm
Parking was very good and the restaurant saved the vacation.
It is located about 300 yards from Puebla's downtown which it is awesome.
Try to find another hotel near by.
