Although the room was excellent, the facilities and amenities were disappointing

I'll start with the positive: the room was excellent. Very spacious, sparsely yet tastefully furnished, with a big bed that slept wonderful, and a very spacious bathroom with a great shower and bathtub. Also, the location is quite good, at walking distance from the town center. However, the facilities and amenities were a disappointment. Yes, they have a swimming pool, but no lounge chairs, only regular plastic chairs tables. Breakfast was okayish. Once the restaurant closes after breakfast (11:00 AM), you cannot get any lunch, snacks or drinks until it reopens for dinner at 7:30 PM (not even at the pool). The staff were certainly friendly enough, but not particularly skilled (with one or two exceptions). Wifi only available at the reception and in the restaurant, and it is doable but not very reliable (though it wasn't the worst I've ever had, either).
Basic hotel not far from Iguazu Falls.

We stayed here for two nights in order to birdwatch in the rainforest in the National Park. Room was basic but spotless and very large. Great bathroom and shower facilities with lots of hot water. Restaurant staff and chef catered for us brilliantly. We are plant based eaters and I am a celiac. Five stars for the kitchen staff and food. Thank you! Therefore have nothing to complain about as everything worked and we slept well and all was quiet.

It’s in the jungle so don’t expect much. Great location looking over the river. Pool is nice. Breakfast has a great variety. I had to fix my own toilet. Room is basic but could use some repairs. Also WiFi sucks , it works at the reception mostly but just remember you are in the jungle after all.

Our stay at Pirate Lodge was so fabulous—-from the excellent buffet breakfast (perfect fuel for adventure in Puerto Iguazú) to the delicious menu the hotel served, it was a perfect vacation. We also noticed that our room was clean all the time. The pool and gym were a plus!!!!

We are member of Point system club. Our first room was a casita with kitchen. Clean, but need TLC.... we expressed that is was not to our standard exchange we are used to. If you prefer unit with minimal kitchen wares, this is for you. We requested if they have a better unit. There are several casitas. They do have a new building on the other side of the reception area which we did not notice when we arrived. Our request was gladly granted. To our surprised it was like day and night. New building is very modern, clean and quiet. Location is great! If you like us, we love to walk. This is walking distance to 3 Tres Fronteras, few blocks to Iguazo town, grocery store, shopping and restaurants. YOu can also take a public bus for only Pesos 15. 75 Pesos to Iguazo Park. Internet is only at the lobby. Breakfast is included, there are variety, although it seems same daily, very sufficient. Staff are friendly and helpful.
