Great resort with very kind and attentive staff!

We really enjoyed our stay at Dreams Natura Resort & Spa. The resort is big enough, clean and beautiful. The stuff is very friendly, attentive and helpful.
The process of check in was very fast and easy thanks to Oscar. He asked if we’re here to celebrate some occasion, and when it was birthday of my husband we received a piece of chocolate cake to the room. That was really good! The process of check out with Dario was also great. Saul kindly offered us hospitality room that we could longer enjoy swimming pool and after that take shower before coming back home. It was so nice of him!
As we spent a lot of time at the pool near Sugar Reef Bar I’d like to thank waiters Eder, Aron, Lizbeth, Ecle and bartenders Javier and Guiermo for their attention, kindness and excellent service.
It was always possible to find free chaise lounge chairs and clean towels near the swimming pools. Swimming pool has amazing ocean view and wonderful all day long.
It’s great that there is Barefoot Grill near the swimming pool and we could eat some grilled favorites.
I got a lot of fun using water sliders. The staff regulating water activities at water park was fantastic. A lot of thanks to Lorena and others (unfortunately I forgot their names)! I had short but nice chat with lifeguard Oscar. It became obvious for me that people working there are doing their best to create safe and pleasant environment for the guests.
Our room was clean, cozy and with nice partial view to the ocean. Our cleaning lady Beatriz was definitely doing her best to keep it clean and comfortable for us. It was lovely that in the evening we were asked by lady who knocked in our door if we need something else (more clean towels, soap, shampoo and etc.)
Food and drinks were really good and diverse! Usually in the morning and at lunch time we ate at World Cafe. The staff working there was very polite, friendly and attentive. We are thankful to Eduardo, Javier, Cruz, Johnatan, Angel and all the rest for their excellent service.
For dinner we went to Bluewater Grill. We liked a lot beef carpaccio, meat broth that calls “carne en su jugo” and New York steak. The service was great (unfortunately I forgot the name of our waitress)! We were there for a lunch too. Waiter Rafael recommended us very delicious dessert “Banana rolls”.
Also we enjoyed a lot Asian cuisine at Himitsu restaurant and appreciate wonderful service of Enrique who was our waiter. Lovely cozy environment, delicious food and drinks.
One more great thing of this Resort is Coco Cafe where you can get delicious coffee, smoothies, ice cream, fruits, sandwiches and desserts. When I ordered latte macchiato girl working there (so sad that I forgot her name) made a smiling bear face as a decoration for my drink. It was nice surprise that made my good mood even better!
We appreciate a lot all the effort that is done to make our stay so pleasant! We recommend this resort! We will definitely come back again! Thank you!
Wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing either

It takes about a 15 minute drive from the airport to get to this resort. It was a nice touch at check in as they serve you champagne. Our check in process went pretty well and they upgraded our room to one of the preferred room since it was my sister's birthday so our swim out was facing towards the pool and not the mangroves. The hotel itself is beautiful. It is the only hotel in it's current location and they are in the process of building another resort next to it. They have a net up now to catch all the seagrass so if you wanted to dip into the ocean, it wasn't so bad. I didn't notice a smell from the seagrass as others have stated here.
This was our first time in Mexico and first time at a all inclusive resort.
The good: we loved the swim up room. We had lots of fun in our swim up room and had many nights in the swim up just having a blast drinking it up, They do have 24 hour room service so if you needed a snack at 3am, it was available. You can preorder room service and we did this when we went on excursions. The night before we would jump on the app and order ahead our breakfast so we can eat prior to leaving. The majority of the staff members were amazing and very helpful. On our third night, the entertainment staff finally sought us out and I forgot his name. But he made sure to find us every night afterwards to try to include us in everything they had going that night. He was very helpful as we were clueless as to what was happening, it wasn't until halfway through our trip that we found out you can find what's happening at the hotel on the TV. They have this special drink if you go to El Patio where they light up the liquor and it's a liquor coffee drink. Our server there was amazing as well and would bring out dishes for us to try that he thought we would like. It was a nice touch and we appreciated it. We did try the spa on our last day it is amazing!! Definitely a must try and the price wasn't bad. We did the mud wrap and supposedly got a bonus head/shoulder/neck massage added. Not sure how much truth it was and will talk about it in the "bad" suction but we got an exfoliation done, then body wrap, then full body massage. Prior to that, when we arrived to the spa, they take you on a hydro therapy journey which was very cool. First you rinse off then go into the sauna room. Then they make you jump into a freezing pool to close off all your pores. Into the steam room you go and then a final rinse. After, you move through the different stations in the pool that focuses on different parts of your body and it moves throughout all of the body parts and finish in the hot tub.
We liked that the hotel was expansive that we were able to spread out and social distance if needed. We never felt really crowded anywhere until we went to the magic show where we were all in one room. It was just three of us ladies there and we felt safe here that if needed, we would go alone to places within the resort. Covid testing was done on site and a breeze.
The bad: We didn't have a top latch to our room to secure it better for when we were in the room. It looks like at one point of time there was one, as we can see the drill holes for it but it wasn't there. The doors sound like they slam shut but it does not, do wait to pull it shut to ensure that your room is secured. The bathroom light in our room never turned off. We never called about it as the other ladies slept with night mask on but it did bother me a bit. The A/C was also really loud and produced a white noise. Again that didn't bother the other 2 but it was annoying. The mini fridge. I was expecting a little more but it only came with 4 small bottles of corona and the rest were water, soda and juice. You couldn't call for more beer either in room service. So if you wanted to just enjoy your swim up and drink, it was very limiting. They made it so you have to go to one of the bars to get drink. We just bough a bottle and called it a day to enjoy in our rooms when we still wanted to enjoy swimming/drinking when the pools were closed. Not all of the restaurants were opened every day so make sure you check the schedule. The buffet served the same food every day and it was a miss for us. We hardly found anything we liked to eat there and ended up ordering room service or going to the grill for something more. We did book ahead to get hibachi and the next opening was four days from when we made our reservation. The hibachi was okay, limited servings and left more to be desired. It would've helped if they served miso soup and the ginger salad with the meal as the fried rice, meat and veggies were on the smaller side. We probably would've preferred to just dine in regularly. I thought I would like not having to use a bracelet to identify that you stay at the resort but after having to give my room number each time I went to go eat, I think I rather just do the bracelet and get it over with. The swim up bar closed at 5 every day. But if you walked around, the bar on the other side opened until 7. It was just a hassle to get out of the pool, order drinks then go back into the pool.
We hardly attended any of the special dinners or shows that happened at the resort as we were never on their time. We don't eat at the traditional 5-6pm and that's when it's happy hour and we are just turning up/partying it up. We're not about to go back and get ready to go eat. It was just a little annoying that if you weren't on their time, you missed everything and most of the entertainment and bars closed by 11. When all else fails, just order a bottle like we did and party it up in your room/swim up.
The food wasn't anything spectacular. It was decent. Room service was limited but a safe choice most of the time.
The concierge!! This was the only area that I was not happy with the service. Like it's the concierge, how can they provide bad service. But I swear, they treat it like some VIP room that only those official can get in. We only had to approach the VIP room twice and both times it was a pain in the butt. The first time was to reserve the hibachi dinner as they don't take reservations over the phone and we had to go up there. As soon as we approached the concierge room, we were stopped before we could even get to the desk and asked if we were in the right place. They had to verify that we were in the right place before we could even go in. That just didn't sit right with me. The second time it was the same thing when we had to go get our covid results. Stopped before we even got in and got questioned why we were there and if we were in the right place. Just the way they approached us and in a non friendly way, not once but twice left me never wanting to go there but had to.
Check out was pain in the butt as they prioritize check ins over check out. They only have four desks and only two people were working the desks. So plan ahead if you do need to stop at the desk for check out.
Getting bottled water was a hit or miss. When we would ask for it, some will refuse to give it to us and tell us it is okay to drink the water poured as it is filtered water and then at times they would serve us bottled water. Either we got lucky or it is okay to drink their filtered water, but we did not get sick drinking the filtered water when we did.
Tips: we wished we would've brought floaties with us. The type that you sit in the water with not on top. A nicer touch would've been a floatie for your drink. The pools are deep there (4.5') so if you are fun size, the water is at your neck. Do bring your tumbler, flask or whatever you like to drink out of. We brought our own insulated tumbler with straws and was glad we did. They will fill up your own bottle and they do not serve straws. They do have an AMstar desk there to book excursion but do your research prior to coming. I'm glad I did on one of our excursion as they were trying to charge us more than what we could buy on our own by $50 per person. Book your Covid testing as soon as you get there, do not delay or risk not getting it done the day you need it.
The definitive Dreams Natura review
Reviewed 19 September, 2021
I had somewhat mixed feelings for the newly opened Dreams Natura, but the bottomline for me -even though I had a nice time with my family- is whether I would come back. And the clear answer there is no.
The experience was quite uneven, the hotel has some very nice things (the rooms, the decor, the water park for kids) and some not so nice (the location, the beach and -most important- the food and drinks quality). Here is the full review:
Infrastructure: Fantastic, great swimming pools, room was amazing and very comfortable. I like that the hotel size itself was relatively small. VERY nice decor and amazing water park for the kids.
Two low points here are: (1) The lazy river was under maintenance during our stay (all 7 days!) and (2) If you have one of the rooms that faces the east side of the hotel, you'll have a beautifull view of an abandoned construction next door...
Place / Beach: Not good. It wasn't just full of sargazo, but the colour of the water was a bit disguisting, the beaches closer to Tulum are way better.
Service: It's ok. Not fantastic and not bad either.
Food/Restaurants: Clearly the low point of the resort. Despite the variety of restaurants, the food was below par relative to other All Inclusives I've stayed both in terms of variety and in terms of quality. Only exception was the Coco Cafe which had very good coffee and croissants!
COVID-19 measures: The hotel offers antigen testing which is required to enter the US for free but would charge USD 125 per person for PCR testing which is required to re-enter other countries. The measures for COVID control were minimum: There were people withouth their masks at the buffet area, close to the food, no hand sanitizers on the tables at the restaurants. It could definetely improve here.
Wonderful resort and incredibly helpful staff!

The staff were fantastic and so very helpful! Everyone was doing their best to maintain a standard of cleanliness and safety around Covid-19 concerns. The staff was always masked (and in the heat and humidity I highly commend them for doing so because that cannot be comfortable) and consistently sanitizing surfaces and replacing towels and such. They were swift to respond to any questions and offered a high standard of care.
Elicia was amazing and so helpful as she led us through the hydrotherapy session. She walked us through each step, explaining along the way what to do and the benefit of each portion. She also kept us well supplied with things to drink and made our experience so phenomenal!
The message therapists were also incredibly intuitive and were wonderful at reading what was needed and adjusting pressure, lighting and scents.
I felt immensely well taken care of and pampered. The staff all went above and beyond to make sure the experience was fantastic.
The staff made the trip worth it!

I first off want to thank some of the incredible staff at Dreams Natura - to the Entertainment team: Georgina (with her AWESOME and fun water aerobics every day), Lorena (for always being kind and making rainy day activities fun and her dance lessons at night), & Jonathan (for his upbeat attitude and the fun he brought to anything he did). My friends and I had fantastic breakfast service from Gabriel in the World Cafe and Fransisco at El Patio was very enjoyable at dinner. I’m still dreaming about the red fruit margarita! Also, the pools are beautiful and from the large pool closest to the beach, you have a perfect view of the ocean. What made it better was the wonderful service from Edder. You will not regret spending your vacation here! Thank you again to everyone who made our trip memorable and relaxing! Much appreciated!
