November holiday

Excellent service and cleanliness. All staff were professional and courteous. The room was very comfortable. Food was very nice. I particularly liked Las Torres and Lola. I do think the Japanese restaurant was overrated in comparison to Hibachi style restaurants in the United States.

The good, the bad and the ugly

First of all I would like to say that the people of Dominican Republic and tourist businesses have had a very difficult time until recently due to COVID. However, there are many issues that need to be resolved with the resort. Firstly I would like to say that almost all the staff are excellent except for an obvious few but that is normal everywhere. Our room in the Palace was little dated but clean with the same reported issues of flooding in the bathroom with the bad shower design. Grounds are lush and immaculate and nicer plus quieter in the older Bavaro part of the resort. Food is not so good. There is plenty of it but quality is not great and every dish that should have been hot was always cold. Parts of the resort there are meals that you could enjoy outside on a covered veranda but the smokers will ruin your enjoyment. My wife and I last vacationed at the Palladium Punta Cana in 2004. In 2021 many areas of the beach has eroded away at least 40 feet or more in some sections. In 2004 there was Frigate birds hovering every 100 yards along the beach with many Pelicans plus land crabs everywhere. Now we only saw one Frigate bird two Pelicans and no land crabs. There is a fair amount of plastic in the ocean which is sad. The beach is not totally ruined but it is sad how much it has deteriorated and now seaweed is adding to it's problems. The cost to stay at the resort it has become much cheaper than it was and we think that is why 80% of the people staying there are Spanish whether local or not. The other much smaller visible group was the Russian and I am only noting this as many of the Russians and Spanish do not know how to behave. As to COVID precautions many of these people ignore them totally and you can see why the virus is going wild in their respective countries. Could they care less about the safety of others, no. Would I stay again, no. Talking to other tourists on excursions we were informed of much better local resorts for only a few hundred dollars more and there appears to be many to choose from.

Not a good experience at all! Views were great, but property maintenance and accommodations were terrible. Nothing in our room worked. the tv, phone, and toilets did not work. had to walk to the buffet to use the restroom when our room had 2 restrooms that did not work!!!!!!!!

Great visit - amazing facilities, great staff and good food.

We had a great time. The facilities are beautiful and the staff is helpful. The all inclusive portion is unparalleled. The staff has been very helpful, polite and nice. Edwin and Constantino made the day activities great, Carlos helped us clean some broken glass there was in front of our room. We spent too much time at the breakfast where they ask you if you want to be an associate and didn’t really receive the gifts they offered but otherwise a fantastic relaxing visit.

Horrible

Reviewed 22 november, 2021

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. First it looked promising, beautiful lobby and the welcome drink is beautiful if nothing else. We had to sign up for a welcome gift and ‘tour’ but it was really a timeshare presentation. Paying 18k to be in a club where you still have to pay for the reservations when you book. The audacity. Got escorted to our room, and the it went down from there. Had the best room you could get here (panoramic ocean view loft) and the water pressure was non-existent, the tvs in the room turned on but one tv didn’t display an image and the other couldn’t change the channel even after changing batteries in the remote. The worst thing about the room was that the A/C did not work! Woke up everyday dripping in sweat and that was with not having sheets on us. Had to fight and call between the front desk and the concierge to get us moved to another room. The last night we got assigned to a new room. A/C worked but tv not having an image was still an issue. The icing on the cake was the last night I ordered a romantic beach dinner and a ‘Gold’ package that included rose petals everywhere, a fresh ran bath, and strawberries and champagne. They overbooked on the beach dinner so we did not get to do that. That night, only thing that came was the knock from a bellboy who had the strawberries and champagne. Called concierge to see where the rest of the items were that desk was closed. First thing before I checked out I went to the concierge desk to ask what happened and was told housekeeping knocked on my door repeatedly but no one came. That was NOT TRUE, both of us said the only knock we heard was the bellboy with the strawberries and champagne and we answered as soon as he came in. Even after pictures proving what we got versus what we were supposed to get, I still had to pay for a 100 service I didn’t receive with the reasoning of they source from a third party vendor. I am an avid traveler taking vacations 2-3 times a year. Palladium group will never get my money ever again.
