Fifteenth stay, first time traveling alone, already planning trip number sixteen. My happy place. The Star Friend's are as great as ever, friendly and fun and I am rarely without a dance partner. Would highly recommend!

I enjoyed the dancing and latino classes, the whole crew and their energy and programme was amazing. Despite the hurricane we managed to have fun in the lovely café or at the bar, the area of the hotel and all services were stunning.
Was a nice stay!

We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. The service / staff was the best we experienced so far! The hotel has one of (if not) the best location - directly at the Bavarian beach. The sea weeds was the only show stopper but nothing that the hotel can fix. The food offer is really nice and the pool is great but could be a little bigger. Learn a little Spanish it might help you, not all the staff can speak English.
Nice resort but

This is our 4th times at Iberostar between Dominican and Mexico. These resort are all consistence with Iberostar standard in their room and suites, resort layout, garden and groud and staff training. That means beautiful ground, clean beach, good food and excellent service. There are several things different at the Selection Bavaro. The children age is set to 12 instead of 16 in Mexico. So 13 year old has to pay adult rate but still have to wear children wrist band. Not like Mexico, staff at Bavara speaks very little English, that includes customer service meaning communication by email was confusing. The pool is a lot smaller than Lindo/Maya so it got every crowded during weekend. Food at la carte are as good but buffet has less selection than Mexico. The buffet is open air but we found that it was comfortable even without air conditioned. Most staff may not English, they were still friendly and helpful if there is mutual respect. Nataly at the concierge office was accessible, cheerful and she helped us with all of our dining reservation. Check in and check out was easy and you do not need a ticket at checkout like Mexico. Since the resort is smaller, it is easy to find a golf cart to take you to your destination. The disco is at Punta cana/dominicana side. It is as good as in Mexico with super cool aircon. We did enjoy it during weekdays but it was too crowded during weekend. To summarize, Bavaro has the DR charm and more colonial so it was a change as compare to Lindo/Maya. It is less luxury and become less enjoyable during weekend just because it is a smaller resort.
