So much fun, not luxury

My mother and I were there from November 23-30th. We had lots of fun during the day, but we will not likely be back. We had some issues with our room and with Diamond Club upgrades. When we arrived, there was a hair in our shower and the safe did not work. We also did not have the robes promised with Diamond Club. Our butler Nelson was amazing! We loved him so much. He made every effort to connect with us at LEAST once a day, even when we saw him speed walking around. He’s a very very busy man, but found time to talk to us about Canada and to talk to me about dancing (I’m a Latin dancer). He tried his best to fix all of our problems, and even got on the phone with a hostess for us when our reservation got mixed up. The day entertainment staff was amazing. Shout out to the Hideaway boys; Jean Paul (AKA Jaype Papi), Willqui (who helped me carry drunk momma home) and Felipe. I didn’t get to see too much of them, but when I did, they made me and my mother feel special! Little extra special shout-out to Jaype and Felipe. Felipe’s English was not so good, but he had Jaype come with him and help to translate so we could communicate. Things like that make an impact on my mother and I. Franklin, David and Sondy at the pool were always around and waving and saying hello! Franklin was an amazing DJ (and we wished he was the night time DJ). Victor and David did most of the fitness activities, and they were super good and fun (but serious at the same time). We LOVED when Mirtha did Zumba because she made it sooo much more fun! When she did it, there were more people that joined because we sounded like we were having fun. Wander and Junior weren’t around our area as much, but when they were, they made it special. Junior helped me communicate and dance with some Dominicans on Sunday, when all the locals came into the resort for the day. He also went out of his way to dance with me when he was around and the right music was playing. Wander was around for most of the dance lessons, and he made then more fun with his “OHHH SORRYYY” when he got too into the music. They made me and my mother feel special. They all remembered I was a dancer, and would come by when dance songs came on, as well as went out of their way to connect with my mother who is not a dancer. Food was good, service was good everywhere BUT Diamond Club bar (which was extremely disappointing after we’re paid for the upgrade.) We sat for 35mins without getting served, while we watched other people show up and immediately get their drinks and food orders taken. By the pool, some waiters come by trying to sell premium alcohol. Some were a bit much, but some were good. I wish I could remember the name of one specifically. He had asked if we were interested, and we declined, but he stayed and talked to us for a whole, and every day he made an effort to say hello. The waiters/waitresses from the pool bar where amazing, both those at the bar and those that brought drinks to your seats. If we did have an empty cup, it was not empty for long. The disco was closed, which was a disappointment, as we picked that resort because we had heard it was open. We went off the resort a couple of times instead, to Drink Point, which was fun. I would’ve liked to try El Kan too, because it looked and sounded like a lot. Taxis were pretty easy. Just had to call from the hotel, and the taxi would come pick up there, and give their WhatsApp or number for you to call for pick up. The only problem we had was on Sunday night, we had to ask the driver for his information, and when we called, he said he could not pick us up. I had to tell him what the hotel told me, and he sent a different driver. The first driver that night over charged us. All of our other taxis were 15$ one way. He asked us for 20$ to go to the same place. That is not what we were expecting from the taxi service that the hotel sets up for us. At night, it was pretty quiet, unless guests started dancing. Once dancing started, everyone was having fun. They need more staff at night so that this is a regular thing. People don’t want to feel like they HAVE to leave the resort for fun at night. Overall, we had fun, but for the price we paid, we’ve had more fun and more luxury elsewhere. I would rather go somewhere with slightly worse desserts, and get good service, have fun all day and all night, and feel like I’m living in luxury. This was my 3rd trip to the Dominican, and my mothers 5th. We love the people and the country, but this resort was lacking compared to others we’ve stayed at. I love you for freeeee💋

Had a brilliant stay at the Royalton Punta Cana over the past week! Great people, great food and great drink. The vibe team, especially Anderson, David and Sondy made our stay even better. They are such lovely people and so welcoming and helpful! Juan and Willy at Dips bar were great all week! Fully recommend this stay, perfect for a getaway as a couple

We had an amazing week at Royalton Punta Cana. Anderson, David, Sondy and Victor in the vibe team were great! Loved the fitness classes and entertainment on offer - all the staff were amazing and super happy. A couple of things to mention is that the resort is truly in a resort zone, it is not really possible to walk from the hotel to go to any other restaurants or bars. This is fine if you are happy to stay in the resort all the time. Also I would love if there was more Dominican food on offer - there is some at the buffet but no specific restaurant on site serving local/National food which I think would be a great addition, instead of some of the ok American-style food. Everything was so clean also, you have to wear masks in restaurants when walking around but can take these off when sat, which is fine. We had an amazing vacation, thank you!

The vacation is great so far. The beach is great, food and drinks are good and theres plenty to do. Animation especially is good, workers socialize and make sure everything is good. Sondy is a great guy, very helpful and careful to customers needs.💯
