Great stay on the beach

Reviewed 3 january, 2020

The hotel has a great location, just feet from the beach and a 15 minute walk to town. The manager, Jonathan, was extremely helpful, nice and a great host. Breakfast can be served in your room or anywhere you like at the hotel grounds. The staff is very friendly and it was fun to practice my Spanish with them. Recommend this hotel for a fun stay on the beach!

Welcoming and caring host

Reviewed 12 december, 2019

Stayed here for 2 nights. The host was very caring as we missed our pick up from the bus so he came looking for us. He gave us orange juice when we arrived and showed us to a very nice room. The room was basic but good AC, good shower and hot water and very clean. Breakfast is served with the host asking for your choices. No buffet. The coffee is very good. I gave 5 stars due to the caring host - he was helping us with arrangements when we were concerned about the bus back to a Montevideo. The hotel is great for the small town - about 1km away from the centre and Main Street where there are several restaurants. No food is served in the evenings here. It’s not 5 star luxury but it’s a great place to stay and is in keeping with Punta Del Diablo. I would return and stay again.

Comfortable 3 star

Reviewed 31 december, 2017

A very comfortable three star hotel in Punte Del Diablo. The hotel is slightly away from the restaurant and bar strip along the beach- probably 15 minutes walk. The hotel offers a nice breakfast every morning including juice, coffee, toast, eggs, cheese and ham. There is water and some drinks available for purchase in the lobby. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we got by on our very limited Spanish with patience, hand gestures and good humour. As we booked during peak season the rates were a bit steep for a 3 star hotel, but that is just Adam Smith's supply and demand at work.

A good hotel with great views

Reviewed 28 december, 2017

The hotel is nice with all you would need from a three star. The breakfast is good and the people helpful. It is close to the beach and have good views. There are only two things that bothered me a bit- the hotel is starting to look a little run down and maybe need some TLC. Also for what we paid for this experience we found it quite expensive. Having said that we did book in peak season and had one of their largest rooms.

Very enjoyable stay

Reviewed 28 december, 2013

Lovely, small hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The pool was clean and pretty, with a very relaxing atmosphere. Our room was clean and pleasant with a great terrace to relax on as well (with a large 2-person lounge chair as well as a small table with chairs). The included breakfast is varied and filling. The price seemed high, but actually consistent with prices everywhere in town and with its comfort and amenity level, so I think it is fair. The only possible downside is that it is a longish walk to the main part of town for restaurants, shops, etc. That is a nice thing because it does feel more remote and quiet, for those that want a relaxing (vs. hard partying) atmosphere. But it is a little tiring to make the walk back and forth several times a day if you are going into town for lunch and dinner and anything else. So it's a bit of a trade-off. But overall, it was a pleasure and I would highly recommend it!
