Lovely spot to stay in Old Quebec

Reviewed 20 december, 2021

Beautiful old building that was converted to a hotel. The floors are even sloped in the room which indicates just how old it is. A brick wall in the bedroom and living room of the suite we rented and a stone wall as well. Very centrally located to the lower part of Old Quebec. The staff was friendly and helpful every time.

Extraordinary stay

Reviewed 12 december, 2021

We spent two extraordinary nights and were delighted. The suite was beautiful, clean, and the ambiance was just right for the holidays (including gentle music playing from the clock radio when we arrived). The location is terrific for exploring, including antique shops across the street. Most memorable were our delicious meals. All in our party agreed that the breakfasts we had at Louise Taverne and Bar were the best we've ever had. The young chef is a genius. Hope to return soon.

Simply Superb!

Location, ambience, staff and facilities could not have been better. Our first visit to Quebec and had we known better we should have booked for a longer stay. The hotel is a wonderful historic building with just minutes to the Champlain Quarter. breakfast was a treat - as too the restaurants and food enjoyed during our stay. We were transported back to a Europe of past - when life was then much slower, respectful and safer. Simply wonderful - and to return in the not too distant future - and for a much longer stay to explore a superb city.

Great location and excellent service

Reviewed 7 december, 2021

The hotel is in a perfect location for visiting Old Quebec. It is adjacent to the Champlain Quarter and a pleasant walk to the upper city. Our suite was large and comfortable and combined modern style within old stone walls. It included a kitchen and small dining area which we did not use, but may be nice for an extended stay. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts in the restaurant. The service was excellent from the valet parking through to reception and dining. We look forward to staying here again.

First trip to historic Quebec City

Reviewed 24 november, 2021

We were heading to Moncton for our grandsons hockey tournament and we decided on a stay in old Quebec. We decided to try Port Royal Hotel and are we glad we did. The hotel is a beautiful old building in the historic city. The check in was easy and quick and our room was very nice. Well appointed and equipped with a kitchenette area and although we were just passing through it would have been nice if we were staying a bit longer to have use of the kitchen. Although the hotel is old it’s been kept up very nicely and quite modern considering. It is very close to the Quartier Petit Champlain which is a quaint area resembling districts old old Europe. It was a short walk to the Quartier and we looked in a number of shops along the way. We had a wonderful time. We continued to Moncton and decided that as our first night at Port Royal was so good that we would return for another night on our way home. This next night we again went to Petit Champlain where we found a nice little bistro called Sous La Fort. We had one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The price was quite reasonable and the wait staff were very pleasant and engaging. We will definitely be back as we’d like to try the area in early or late summer. We travelled as a couple with my wife’s sister and her husband.
