We just needed somewhere to lay our heads for the night, as we were flying out to Santorini early the next morning and they have an airport shuttle! They got us to and from the airport in a timely manner, which was about a 20-25 min ride to the coast. The hotel is right on the port of Rafina, where there are ferries (we didn't take a ferry). The hotel features a restaurant where breakfast was included and consisted of various meats, cheeses & pastries. Along with assorted refreshments: juice, coffee but the hot chocolate was unavailable 😕. I checked in around 1830-1900hrs and got situated in my 2nd floor room with a balcony overlooking the sea. Headed down to the restaurant where they offered 15% off for being an overnight guest. I had the sauteed mushrooms with cheese as an app and the seafood (shrimps, calamari, octopus) risotto. It was a little overdone but still delicious and well overdue after such a long travel day from Texas!
Adequate for a stop over

This hotel had its better days. The location is great if you’re taking an early ferry to some of the Greek islands nearby. The cappuccino at breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable and the room a good size for European standards. We visited after the summer season was over and the town looked fatigued but found some good restaurants to start our journey to more picturesque locations.

I booked at Avra, Rafina for May 2020. I only required an overnight between flights and they offered free airport transfers. It was a non-refundable booking. I cancelled due to Covid and was pleased to receive a voucher to be used until Dec 31, 2021. However, I am still unable to travel and had written off the amount. I am so pleased to now receive a full refund.

While researching hotels in Greece for our first trip I started looking in athens, but after considering we were just spending the night and taking a ferry around 7 the next morning I started looking for other options. That’s when I found the city Rafina via its port that has a slightly shorter and cheaper ferry ride to Mykonos! Rafina also hosts a beautiful Cycladic church within walking distance of the hotel that is an absolute must for photo lovers and those interested in religious history From there I found Avra hotel: Avra has a free airport shuttle, breakfast included (it was delicious), 5 minute walk to the ferries, and rooms with sea view balconies… all for about $130 usd at the time we went (late September) There are many restaurants nearby, but perhaps none beat Avra Bar and Restaurant at the hotel. We had pork and chicken dishes cooked perfectly and for dessert, decadent chocolate and strawberry heart shaped cakes - the whole meal was about $40 usd The value for the price at this hotel is unmatched, would definitely stay here again

Our flight home was brought forward so unable to get a ferry from Tinos back in time, so booked based on location (few mins walk from port) & free airport shuttle service. The hotel is very much like an English Premier Inn the rooms look very similar, so clean modern of an adequate size. There’s also a small fridge & balcony which was nice. Check In was quick & easy. Breakfast is a decent continental Buffett. The hotel is by the beach if you have a few hours to kill. Rafina appears to be very quiet in the day but busy at night, after checkin we popped out for a drink & pancakes at nearby restaurant which were very nice. Best to book airport shuttle at booking but can be done on the day it’s every half an hour. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone who needs a pre/post ferry accommodation at a reasonable price.
