Rooms not clean.
Reviewed 28 november, 2021
Room cleanliness was poor. Dirty light fixtures, inside and outside tables. Service was fair, except for the Starbucks. Pool was left trashed. No clean towels. Only dirty towels left all over the pool area. Since Marriott purchased Westin. I thought this location would be up to Marriott standards.
Very few guests or employees wearing masks in midst of pandemic

We just arrived and unlike in Los Angeles where at least all staff at public places wears a mask, very few staff are wearing masks here and same with the guests. We charge everything on our Marriott Bonvoy AMEX, so that we can have nights away. To come see this is very disappointing, especially when I just read that the COVID rates right now are relatively high. Do much, much better, Westin Mission Hills. You are a disgrace in the middle of a pandemic.
Absolutely The Best!

I've stayed at a number of various Westin properties and the Mission Hills property is by far the best. It's well run and Managed by the most professional staff I've experienced in the hospitality industry. I extend a special acknowledgement to Tom Scaramellino, the GM of the Westin Mission Hills property. Due to an unforeseen situation, Mr. Scaramellino stepped up with the utmost professionalism and resolved the matter. It's obvious Mr. Scaramellino sets the standard for quality and excellence within the Westin organization!
Friendly Clean but deceptive

Stayed in room 1617? a few weeks back. Greeted by a very upbeat Ukrainian woman (sorry I forgot her name?) at the front desk who assisted us at the last minute by upgrading our accommodations ($50.00 upcharge) to include our small dog who was traveling with us. I love this feature about Westin allowing small pets. The employee made sure a cute fluffy Westin dog bed and dog bowl were quickly sent to our hotel room to make our little companion comfortable - a nice touchpoint by the Westin staff. She also gave us free passes to the new bowling alley on-site and a few free drink coupons upon arrival. All terrific pluses that really got us in the mood for a great stay. It was the bar and restaurants that really turned things upside down for us on this trip. We walked from our hotel room to the bar which was quite a walk with my 80 something mom. Everyone on the walk though- housekeepers, landscapers, very friendly, made eye contact and said hello, and were helpful. The hotel mgmt put out free sangria and tacos on the patio but we wanted a blended cold pina colada so I stood at the bar waiting with the staff of barmaids for service because no one came to our table outside. That's when I was told that they had no blender at that bar area because there was, "No room." I have never heard of anything like that. We then had to walk the dog with my 80 something mom back to the other bar and to the Italian restaurant in order to get our requested drinks. There were tons of staff there too just hanging out but we were seated n the patio quickly and received our drinks, which were delicious. We thought we were back on track and decided to have dinner @ Pinzimini as we settled in. However, after appetizers and the second round of drinks we were then told that a large group of people was coming in and they wanted to be moved from the other side of the venue to our side because it showed the "live" music entertainment. The staff then asked if they could move us, at which point we had no interest in picking up everything so we left. On day two, we went back to Pinzimini for lunch with friends, and again the abundant staff was standing around, but the service was very slow. It took almost 1 hour for an order of french fries to be served to the table (cold in fact upon arrival) after I went looking for the waiter staff. When we ordered lunch, it was the same game repeated, I had to get up and look for the waiter and repeat my dissatisfaction with foodservice coming out of the kitchen. When the food finally arrived, 1.5 hrs later, we were walking out of the restaurant. So disappointed Westin. This is not your usual standard.
Poor experience overall

Don’t expect service here. We came for a wedding and start to finish it was a poor experience for us . Arrived and our room door was locked from the inside and we couldn’t open it- so after multiple calls and visits to lobby, they sent a nice security man to open the door, and the room was dirty and had some security issues( what?!) They asked us if we would be ok with another room with 2 beds. Um, no? New room, but next day no housekeeping. At 3pm I called and they said” you have to request housekeeping” Really? When or how would I have known that? There are no special amenities for $300/night. Just a poor experience overall .
