Ratana Apart-Hotel at Chalong, Phuket
In great anticipation of year 2020, along with my son, we continued our long holidays in 🇹🇭 Thailand. From Kathu District, we transferred to Ratana Apart-Hotel in Chalong, Mueang Phuket District. We had a very pleasant stay here because of the staff's polite attitude even though not all of them could understand and speak English. The buffet breakfast is OK but its variety can still be improved for the satisfaction of international guests. On scores from 1-10 I would personally give 9 for cleanliness / 9 for facilities / 7 for its location which is more than 40 kilometers from Phuket International Airport / 9 for room comfort and quality / 10 for staff service / and 7 for value for money. Special thanks to Ms. Tik, one of the housekeeping staff; to Ms. Ena at the reception; and to the head receptionist who received us on the day of our check-in. She was also the one who cleared us on check out and returned our deposit of 300 Baht for the card key. Thank you so much Ratana Apart-Hotel. We surely missed our stay with you when we transferred to Thalang District. It was only because my son had to fly back home early the next morning. We will definitely recommend your Apart-Hotel to our family, international friends and business associates.
Lovly hotel friendly staff
Stayed here for 7 days after staying at Patong, it was a lovely change. Although not situated near the beach, it is only about a 10 mins journey ok the bike. The hotel was always clean, the rooms were very spacey, the beds very comfortable. Swimming pool was super clean and not over busy Staff were all friendly, especially the two young ladies at reception that constantly made us laugh. Over all a great time was had.
Terrible
I booked this hotel 6 months in advance through booking.com and the hotel charged my card immediately after booking. Once in Thailand, I sent the hotel an email on my date of arrival and informed them that I would be checking in at 9pm at night. After not receiving a reply and calling many times with no answer, I also advised them that if not at 9pm, I'll arrive on the next day before 3pm. Without any answer, I thought what if there is no reception so I stayed at the other city for another day. Once I arrived there before 3pm, the hotel had given away my paid booking and refused to refund me any money for the 3 days of stay I was charged for! Thankfully, Booking.com said this was not right and they would return to me 50% of the money as a courtesy since the hotel wasn't doing it. They are scammers and many people there felt the same about them. Other than this, the location is literally in the middle of nowhere and 4 star rating for this hotel is a joke as it did not seem clean, smelled and the lobby looked very old.
Great Value and Location
I booked a Grand Deluxe balcony room for 13 nights. It’s is worth paying more for this room type. I stayed 2 nights in a smaller room (no window) and the difference is huge. The Grand Deluxe balcony room was large, bright and clean. It is a well-appointed room with a nice large bath and separate shower. The free w-fi is very fast, this is low season though so demand is low. The on the 4th floor the view was nice (can see a bit of sea) however from the 2nd floor not so good. The balcony is quite large. The staff are friendly and helpful although communicating in English wasn’t always easy. The hotel is about 700M to the beach – a short walk. There are many shops bars and convenience stores nearby even a Big C about 60m away as well as many ATMs. The beach as well as the main restaurant area is approx. 700m away - so just a short walk. The hotel has a small gym that has all the equipment you need to work out although a mirror would be a good addition and perhaps an air-con unit. The pool on the roof (being the 6th floor) is quite large and well maintained with a nice mountain view. I would definitely book this hotel again
1 Night Stay
Me and my friend stayed here for one night in November. The hotel was very basic, pictures are very deceiving! We booked the hotel online which stated it was a 4 star however, I would rate this hotel as a 2 star at the most. Staff were very friendly and welcoming the rooms were ok we had a tv and wifi was included with the stay too (although it was very slow) The one major thing that put us off and made us feel uncomfortable through out or stay was the fact that a porn movie was being set a few doors down from our hotel room and we could hear it all night! Me and my friend are both 22 year old females so as you can understand how we felt very anxious! We were glad we only stayed the night! You get what you pay for.
