The room was not cleaned well. The beds were weirdly high and the sheets didn’t fit right. The place was under construction. The washer was broken. It just wasn’t worth the price. Unfortunately, while the staff was nice, it was just an odd experience and I would recommend staying anywhere else.
Nice stay with friendly staff

When I checked in I noticed that the breakfast area was completely bare & undergoing renovation. The guy at the front desk said that they still served a hot breakfast in the morning. I saw a refrigerator with breakfast sandwiches & other items & I asked if this was the hot breakfast & he said yes. The rest of the stay was good. We had a clean & comfortable room. The pool was refreshing & the wi-fi was fast. In the morning I got some breakfast sandwiches from the lobby for my wife & I to heat in the microwave in our room. I went back to the lobby for some more items & the lady at the front desk told me she had biscuits & gravy, sausage & eggs in the back room & would fix me a plate if I wanted it. So I asked for some sausage & gravy to eat with my breakfast sandwiches that had already been cooked. We left the hotel happy & would not hesitate to stay there again.
Usually expect so much better from Comfort Inn

I'm a Choice member and frequently stay at Comfort Inn's, in fact had done so at another one just recently in Cody, WY, which was great and up to the usual standard but this one in Rawlins unfortunately has seen better days. I can overlook the construction in the lobby area, my problem was with the room itself. Pretty beat up, broken toilet handle, missing phone guide, so I had to experiment on how to reach the front desk which we had to do so multiple times, no hand towels or face cloths were in the bathroom, just bath towels. In fact, the toiletries were almost like they were just dumped in the bathroom, we had 4 bars of soap, but the other items were tossed in the corner, it's like the housekeeping raced thru and then forgot some of the towels. But the other problem with with the key cards, they seem to work once, maybe twice, then stopped, my husband had to replace his, which of course required mine to be replaced. Lo and behold, it happened again in the morning, after going to the car and returning successfully, the second trip locked us out and we had to replace our cards again. The room had a musty damp smell, and it just wasn't up to the usual Comfort Inn quality.
Inflexible no matter what

While traveling, I had vehicle difficulties. A breakdown. The Comfort Inn Rawlins has a 48 hour cancellation policy. I called the morning of my planned stay. They refused any consideration of my situation and stated I would be charged the full $204 for the "stay". I then asked if I could as a Platinum Member of Choice Privileges' switch to using some of my 86,000 points. NOPE. I called Choice Hotels main reservation desk. Same story. Laying misery upon misery. Never again Choice Hotels. Not on my dime. Thieves.
Not even close to ADA standards

Let’s start with the positive. The rooms are clean and fairly up to date. It’s quiet for a good nights sleep. Now…the negatives: the lobby is under construction and very chaotic. The breakfast was served from the front desk and and you were asked to take it back to your room to eat as there is no seating in the lobby. We didn’t stay and found breakfast on our own down the road. The bathroom is a death trap!!! The bath tub is soooo slippery! I put down a bath towel in the tub so my husband wouldn’t slip and fall in it. They should have rubber bath mats available in every room. When I suggested this to the Manger, she said it had been mentioned before by other guests. The bathroom floor tile when wet is like an ice skating rink. I feared for my life after a shower. Again I laid towels in the floor so my husband would fall. Now….the ADA rooms…DON’T STAY HERE IF YOU ARE DISABLED! They billed the room as ADA. It is far from it! The bathtub had a nice shower seat, but you had to step into the tub. Noncompliant. There wasn’t a hand held shower wand so had to stand to use the water. There were plenty of grab bars, but when the tile floor is that slippery they are meaningless. Even with all the precautions I took, my husband still fell on the slippery floor. When I approached the manger in the morning, she said, “Well, they really aren’t ADA rooms”. Then don’t advertise them as ADA! This is a lawsuit ready to happen. The disabled parking, again, not very accessible. The cement and paving is not level. I had to bring the car up to the front door to load. I have never been so glad to leave a hotel!
