This was a VERY expensive trip, but well worth it. If you do want to treat yourself and are prepared to look the other way when the bill arrives, this is it. And I'm saying that even though we experienced this on a rainy weekend. First up: the service is spectacular. Warm and welcoming and highly competent. The food (a 7-course set menu) is spectacular! Based on regional produce each course is prepared and served in perfection with a lot of attention to detail. Fair enough, seven courses take some time to eat (about 3.5h), but at no time did we feel that it's too much or that we just needed a big plate of food. It was simply a great experience, which was followed by a very comfortable night. Breakfast was served at the table (no buffet), but I can't think of anything that was missing. It's great to see that it is possible to have a great choice of food with minimal food waste. All in all a simply wonderful experience which could only have been topped by great weather and taking the experience outdoor.

Me and my Partner have stayed their in November and it was absolutely beautiful. Mr Gloser the GM is super friendly and was looking after us with personal touch that I have not seen in any Hotel yet. The town is cute and super romantic. The F&B is delicious and ticked all my boxes with a super good winelist as well!

Sadly we were taken in by the photos of the Hotel set amid idyllic clouds. The Hotel itself is lovely. And Marion who appears to manage the place is a sweet young woman. Unfortunately after viewing the charming communale areas we were taken to our room which we found dark and dreary. Marion showed us another room, which with its odd slope would have had my 6' 3 1/2 " husband knocking his head. We were to stay 3 nights but checked out after one, and are grateful to Marion for reimbursing us for those 2 nights as the cost for a room at the Krone is not insignificant, but I'm told nothing in Switzerland is insignificant in cost. What did we not like about our room? First, here was no door to the bathroom. OK I exaggerate, there was a sliding door, that didn't slide very well and did not entirely close. The smallish room (by our standards and that appeared much larger in the photos) felt darker with black walls and heavy curtains. There were no bathrobes, surprising for a cold weather destination. In our opinion the room had no charm or warmth. We felt the hotel more suited for foodies and maybe hipsters, of which we are neither.

We stayed At Krone for only one night but had the most amazing experience. The staff were perfect and the food and wine was exceptional. Beautiful rooms with breathtaking views and a bonus of waking up to heavy snow topped of our stay !! We will definitely return but for longer next time !

This is a Relais and Chateau property that tells you something right there. It is situated in a small village on the top of a hill and has only 7 rooms and 2 suites. It was built in a medieval home that had a fire a few years ago. The rooms are ultra modern but have some architectural remenents of the original building. Have a cocktail on the terrace and enjoy a spectacular view of the Swiss countryside. Truly gorgeous!
