Bed Bugs & Refused to Refund Cost of Room

We went down for two nights for the funeral of a lifelong friend. We woke to find bed bugs & when we showed our pictures to the front desk, the girl took my phone to the GM who did not even come out. We were told they would move our room for the second night but they refused a refund. I have since written to both Choice Hotels and Hotels.com and did not receive the courtesy of a response.

Close to the beach

This is a convenient location. Its 10 min from the beach. Breakfast was included. It consisted of waffles, toast, sausage. Hot food. There was also fruit. Rooms are comfortable, helpful staff. They answered questions about the bus service. Plenty of parking!

WORST MANAGEMENT EVER

I reserved 2 rooms under employee rate as I am employee of the Choice hotels. They cancelled my reservations without my permission . Upon calling, Linda (general manager) said that, front desk manager Barbara recieved a call from me to cancel it. Can you believe, she even asked for my phone records when I said I don"t need to call to cancel any reservation as I can manage my reservations through my app. When I called choice customer services,I found out my reservation was cancelled @ 2:06 am. Makes no sense for me to call them at that time to cancel. After reviewing my phone records I got a call from linda saying she can reinstate only 1 room as they were sold out. When she lied about being sold out , she forgot that I work for the same industry and I can see all the availability on same dates and same types of rooms I originally reserved. Long story short They cancelled my reservations without my knowledge so, they can resell my rooms to someone at very higher price then I originally reserved for. Comfort Inn Rehoboth beach used to get gold awards from choice hotels for the guest satisfactions which they are not getting any more no wonder why. Because of their unprofessional act I end up spending over $1000 extra to find another hotel at the last moment. If you are a choice member and looking for better accomodation try Quality inn or Sleep inn just across the street.

Do Not Stay at this Hotel

I stayed at Comfort Inn in July – Picked the hotel because it was nonsmoking and close to beach. Rooms were decent – pool was clean - breakfast was good. I go to pay off my credit card balance for the month and low and behold there is a $250.00 charge on there from Comfort Inn. (Room charge was there too) I called and asked what the charge was for? SMOKING FEE!!!! I said excuse me what about a smoking fee? There was evidence of smoking in your room. Now when we went to our room and if we smelled smoke we would have went to the front desk and asked for a different room. A nonsmoker can smell the slightest smell of smoke. We went back and forth for a few minutes. I asked for the manager. She wouldn’t be in until Saturday. Hung up and I called Corporate Choice Hotel – Comfort Inn – I had to put a compliant in. Spoke with a Chris in compliants she was very apologetic. She wrote everything down and basically told me I had to deal with the General Manager @ Comfort Inn in Rehoboth. I next called my credit card company to dispute this charge. Waiting to hear back from them. In the mean time I called for the 4th time to speak with the General Manager. I finally got her. I told her that they are stealing money from me that this is theft. Linda (GM) told me she had to talk with housekeeper Sabrina because she is the one that found the evidence of smoking in our room. Ok, call me back. 20 minutes later Linda (GM) called me. Once a housekeeper suspects smoking in any room they go to the front desk to have someone go in the room with them to show the evidence. Linda is telling me that Sabrina found cigarettes butts in our room. Hell to the NO she did NOT! Not from us anyway. Linda (GM) proceeded to tell me they are sticking to charging me the $250.00 smoking fee. I told her I will NEVER recommend anyone staying there and will post on social media. Linda (GM) says do what you have to. Please check your credit card statements each month!

Nice Stay, Decent Hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the Comfort Inn Rehoboth Beach. It's on the main Coastal Highway near many restaurants, and close drive to beaches Our room was clean at arrival and updated. And the hotel is well kept and comfortable. My only complaint is that they are still not doing housekeeping. Not even light cleaning in between nights, and you have to drag your dirty towels down to the lobby to get new ones, and the response everyday "I hope housekeeping has some here to give". I understand a lot of hotels aren't, but I really am finding this unacceptable for the costs paid. And again, while I know some other hotels also aren't, unless it's mentioned, hotels just keep doing this uncceptable practice. The pool was very nice, but there were never clean towels on the rack for the pool in the 4 days we were there, and always had to go to the desk to ask them, and the response was always, "I don't know if housekeeping has any there". We just gave up on the last day and just used our used beach tiwels Free breakfast was average typical hotel free breakfast. Nothing special or spectacular, but acceptable and fine, even if average. All in all, we did have a great stay. And I would have given a 5 star if not for the lack of daily housekeeping and the towel hassle of having to deal with dirty wet towels schlepping to the front desk and begging for more towels.
