Noisy, so very noisy.

If you are in room 201, and it's a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, demand to move rooms. I read some previous negative reviews and to be honest thought they were exaggerated, after all it's on a busy street so of course there will be noise.
It's my last night here at the hotel right now (on a Thursday) and the bass rumble of the nightclub permeates the room.
It's worse on a Saturday. I didn't go to sleep until 2.30am,after a long day of travelling to Iceland.
I've complained to the front desk, the lady there shrugged amd said there's nothing they can do.
Room size is fine, but only one tiny window would open, and it opened in to a corridor that led to other rooms. The room can get very hot!
Breakfast is OK, nothing special. Go early (6.30-7am) otherwise it gets busy.
On the plus side it is in a great location, and I'm sure not every room backs on to a nightclub. But I'm deeply unimpressed by this hotel and would suggest that anyone reading this avoids it. If I could work out how to get at least a partial refund, I'd demand it.
Right on a major shopping street

We loved this hotel especially for its location within a major shopping and restaurant district. Easy walking distance to local sights. However, if you have a car parking can be very difficult. Our room was right over the main street which can be noisy at night. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you want a quieter location. The reception staff were wonderful. Great buffet breakfast. A very early light selection of foods is available if you are leaving on a really early flight.
Really great location and studio apartment

Wonderfully located, in the center, everything walking distance, very nice staff, Gisli from the front desk was wonderful and very helpful. Really helped us planning our days.
Spacious studio apartment. The bathroom a bit small and the water smelled bad, like thermal water. No toiletries.
Breakfast was nice, simple. Nothing special.
All in all, worth while and excellent location.
Convenient location, decent value but can be noisy

Stayed 1 night in a standard twin room.
On main shopping street Laugavegur, a few minutes walk from bus stop #6 (culture house) if you're taking tours or using airport transfer service. Also only a few minutes from a branch of Bonus supermarket.
Street has several restaurants & bars so can get lively, creating noise, especially on weekends so those with children or light sleepers may be better looking elsewhere.
Lobby area is quite small and breakfast buffet can also get quite congested. When I stayed mask wearing was not being enforced so I was uncomfortable with proximity to others at times.
Bed was comfortable and room had what I needed but note there is not a lot of space for larger luggage. There is a locked luggage room in the basement if you need storage while on a tour.
Breakfast was ok for what I wanted (cereal, breads, muffins/sweet pastry, yogurts, apples etc) but not a big choice of any item.

The location was the best thing about this place! It was on the main pedestrian road of Reykjavik which is extremely full of people. We requested for an apartment at the back side, and the one we were provided was luxurious, spacious and noise-free even on a Saturday night. It was 110 and 111. We got an upgrade since we requested for both the apartments to be adjacent to each other. The apartment had all facilities including a dishwasher, kitchen, living area etc. They had a cool speaker also. The breakfast was sumptuous, but busy because of high season. We requested for an extension last minute and the staff was kind enough to accommodate. The parking was hard to find because of the central location - they had some slots but all full, so struggled a bit. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for a very central stay.
