Paradise close to nature

We stayed here for three nights while visiting the Intervales State Park to experience nature and to find some of the awesome Geocaches at Intervales.
This place is very nice, the rooms (we stayed in the Elephant / Africa Cabine) are good and clean. At night nothing but the sounds of the Atlantic rain forest. The food is really excellent and very kind and helpful staff. Beautiful surroundings, a place where you come to rest and experience nature as it is.
We recommend Paraiso Eco Lodge if you are a nature lover (for instance looking for birds) or if you just want to have a quite / romantic stay. The internet is a bit slow, but for us that was not a problem.
Amazing Enviroment Disturbing Staff

We stayed there two weeks ago with our kids and a couple of friends (also with kids). The place and the nature around is breathtaking. Accommodations are good (we stayed at the Rochosas Chalet) BUT the staff - although helpful - is totally disorganize. Looks like they just started to operate the place!!
First, there were a tour set to leave at 10am. We left 11.30am. Trousers were mandatory (to explore the caves) and although we stayed in front of the staff for one hour and a half with our shorts, ONLY WHEN we were inside the bus, to leave, they informed this to us all !!
Besides, the food is good, but the options are too poor (but they charge very well for the accommodations).
More...we had rain in the last day, but the phones (in the Chalets) were not working (or at least nobody was picking it up in the other side) and there were no umbrellas in the room. Terrible !
We went. We love the nature around but we are not motivated to return!
Awesome nature wise - Place with great potential, provided a few things get improved.

Comfortable and exotic decor of the rooms makes you feel really relaxed. Splendorous nature - Surrounded by atlantic forest, you will find an array of choices from trails to radical sports to be in close contact with nature. The cuisine seems to be in process of improvement. Some dishes were nice, some were not. The few variety of dishes applied the fewer quantity of ingredients and seasonings, making them all taste pretty much the same. A swimming pool will enhance the experience and array of choices for those who are not so fond of exploring nature. All these possibilities of improvement will take this place to another level of quality. But there is one real big hurdle that does not seem to be subject for improvement - the 21 km (13 miles) of dirt road. This was a bit annoying to me. I live in Sao Paulo and four hours ride from home for a regular weekend isn't so pleasing to me, at least. Altogether it was worthwile and I would return to check on the improvements.
A beautiful place to saty, near an amazing park.

I went with two of my friends to this region to visit Parque Estadual Intervales. As there is not many hotels in the region, we saw this one on internet and booked for one night.
The day of admission, the owner called us 6-7 times minimum because we could not give him precise time of arrival.
It was the first time that an hotel called me to know every two hours where i was and when i'll get there. The closing time of admission was 8pm so i told him 7:30pm, because we wanted to take our time on the road and visit a little bit.
After quite some times trying to find our way to the place, when we parked our car we understood why he asked us so many times where we'll arrive.
A van was waiting for us... to take us to the eco-lodge, as the road was not suitable for a car. We felt embarrassed. Why did the owner didn't tell us this BIG detail?
Anyway, we arrived and what a surprise! The place is so beautiful. The surroundings, the sound of the forest, the bungalows, the warmth of lodge's personel. Everything was charming.
The restaurant for the diner and breakfast had an fantastic view on the landscapes. The food was really good, especially the breakfast with all the juices and bakeries.
Very gentle people are working there, so for me it was a perfect choice.
Don't forget that there is no wi-fi, phones working also. You're cut from civilization, but that's why we went in this lodge and park.
The problem can be that your visa card for the bill can take some attempts to work, as the signal is poor.
A great souvenir.
Great spot to enjoy Intervales

We had planned a geocaching trip into Intervales Park and found this lodge was the easiest for us to book from NZ. Probably not ideally located as there are lodges actually within the park that would make ideal geocaching bases. However, we could not fault the staff who did everything they possibly could to look after us despite some language difficulties. The themed accommodation was really lovely and the lodge is like a little bit of luxury in the rainforest - pool tables, nice meals and a lovely bed to curl up into at the end of a day of treking.
