Freezing cold and bad smells

On arrival we were shown to our room and all seemed fine until I noticed the temperature of the room. It was very cold even though the heating was on full. The walls, floors, bedding and beds were freezing cold. The house must not have been insulated and no amount of heating would help that problem. There was also a bad smell in the bathroom. Our payment had already been taken the day before so the owner kept our money without us even staying there. I asked for a refund and I was ignored even though we only had the room for an hour. Do not stay here unless you want frost bite and bad smells.

We stayed here in transit with the family dog. Clean comfortable and friendly. Wi-Fi included is very good too. It's a quiet village but the trains run past quite late I would recommend the hotel even so.

Checkin in English, immediately got information where we could eat in the village. Info about breakfast times. At the house is a nice terrace where you can sit in the evening if you like. And a parking at the back of the house. During our travel to Holland we found out that we forgot something at the house, the owner had already sent us an email and he sends it to our home!!!!!

Lovely stopover

We stopped here on the way to the ferry in Bilbao. It's very close to the motorway and about an hour from the ferry so it's an ideal stop. The room was small but very clean and there's a small en suite. There's secure parking at the rear of the property. Breakfast was good and served in the fully equipped kitchen where you can use the washing machine or microwave. We are at the café about 50 metres away which serves basic food but closes quite early so don't leave it too late to eat. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again when doing the same journey

Excellent Hospitality

This is a delightful town house now run as a small hotel. Pobes is an attractive Village at an altitude of 600m. There are three bars nearby serving drinks and “menu of the day”. For supper you will need to go further afield. The hotel is clean and tidy but rooms, though well equipped, are very small. There is no AC as temperatures are much lower than further south. The hotel has Wi-fi, tv and hairdryers in rooms. Breakfast is simple though plentiful. Nice coffee, fruit, toast and pastries. There is a large guest kitchen so some self catering and personal laundry looks possible. The hotel’s biggest asset is the charming and very helpful owner. A very good visit and good value for money. Thank you. Will definitely return.
