Continues to exceed its Hampton Inn contemporaries

Hampton Inn properties have generally continued their slow slide into mediocrity for the past 3-5 years. We've been staying in the them for a couple of decades and have watched them slide into "meh". This property is, so far, avoiding joining other inns. That's not a greatly positive statement, but it lifts this inn above the pack and leaves it as a place we'll stay during periodic north/south trips. Clean, friendly, professional, quiet, reinstituted breakfasts are back to their roots, and we'll stay there again.

Headache inducing stale smelling room

Staff was friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast in the morning but the room was really stale smelling…so bad that it was difficult to sleep and gave both myself and my husband a headache. We checked in late after driving 11 hours so didn’t complain, so to be fair, I have no idea how the staff would have responded or if other rooms were as bad as the one we were in, but based off this experience, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Never Again- Disappointed From the Start

Thankfully, it was only a one night reservation here as we traveled to FL. Disappointed from the start. We immediately noticed the wear and tear of this Hampton Inn hotel. The tall, older man that checked us in was not welcoming, nor accommodating at all. We are Hilton Diamond members that pre-selected our room using the Hilton app, but he moved us to a different room. Not sure why. The smoke detector kept going off so we reported it, then had to move to another room. We didn’t expect much from their breakfast and that’s what we got. When we were waiting for an elevator, the elevator doors open, an Indian gentleman stepped out without a word, pulled a cart in, shut the door and left. Not a word, and we looked at each other wondering why didn’t he wait for us to get in too? Upon us leaving, an older Indian woman at the desk was focused on the computer as I stood patiently waiting and waiting to check-out. She never spoke, never asked us how our stay was. It’s a shame I have to tell her how my stay was vis a review. She never even looked up from the computer during our transaction. Poor customer service. This hotel certainly is not up to Hilton standards. This review includes descriptions of personnel in hopes management can identify and offer proper training for these staff members.

The staff had great customer service at checking in. They made sure we got water upon our arrival and also made sure we knew what time breakfast started. Digital key was easy to access our room without any problems.

Dirty bathroom!!

In times like these”COVID” you would think that a hotel would also set standards to clean the rooms extremely well to keep viruses from spreading!! However, the tile floor in the bathroom was filthy!!! We laid the white shower mat down and it was black from the dirt all over the floor!! I have stayed at numerous Hotels and never been to one where the bathroom floor was nasty!!
