Gracious host during Texas freeze

I was vacationing in Corpus Christi when it froze. Monday, February 15, 2021, I found the Quality Inn in Robstown. Stayed for 3 nights and found the owner/management so gracious and accomodating during this most difficult time. Rooms/property were well maintained. The staff were working at least 18 hr days and were pleasant to even those who weren't. Great coffee from their machine in lobby and morning tacos. What could have becomed a more than horrible experience for this tourist, I felt rescued by the Quality Inn. Thank you!

I was returning from the Valley with my boat and needed to stay in Robstown overnight so I booked a room off I-69 (Hwy 77) at this Quality Inn. I was concerned about the safety of my boat and vehicle since the manager told me I had to park in the truck parking lot adjacent to the hotel parking lot. When I asked him if the area was safe, he replied "Yes, it's safe" The area was well lit, however when I went out to my truck the next morning (3/2/20), I found that my passenger rear window had been broken out and my truck had been cleaned out of it's contents, including my closed console storage.
I filed a police report and the officer from Robstown Police Department (very prompt and professional I might add) told me this was a regular break in spot for smash and grab thieves. I called the hotel manager that day and left a message requesting a return call, but no response yet. If I had known this was a regular break in zone, I would have cleared everything out of my vehicle and I would have pushed a bit harder to park my boat and truck in the nearly empty hotel parking lot rather than the truck parking lot next door where I was told to park.
I would AVOID this hotel and this area at all costs!!!

Had a great stay. The front desk employees were very nice. Our room was clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast buffet was fresh and food was hot with good choices. Overall a great experience. Swimming pool looked very nice.
Locked out and in!

This place is not in the best area. It is right on the access road and not near any food places. We have previously stayed a few exits closer to food and will do that next time. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was okay and on par with normal hotels this price range. I did keep getting locked out of or into my room because the door handle would not engage. We finally fixed it by banging on the door right above the lock. Front desk staff just said move the handle in the opposite direction. That didn't work. The thermostat was tough--very cold or very hot in many of the rooms on the 2nd floor.
It is close to a railroad so you can hear the train in the middle of the night and I had a spotlight glaring through my black out shades. It was fine just not a place I would return to.
