Avoid health hazard. Mold and unclean.

Avoid this place for your own health. Arrived late went straight to bed tired. Woke up to find myself staring at mold on the ceiling. Several areas of mold and peeling paper that had been wet prior. Decided to look at what I’d been sleeping on. Heavily stained mattress with likely Urine. Immediately got dressed without even showering to complain. No manager staff on desk had no idea how serious this issue is. You can not rent a room with Mold and mold does not suddenly appear. This room had clearly been in this state for some time. Shame on you Marriott.
Wonderful staff for a long stay.

Inexperienced travelers may have unrealistic expectations during the pandemic. But I found this property to be completely within the parameters of the brand. This is a long overdue review of the room and staff at Courtyard Marriott Rock Hill. I lived at this property for a month while my mother was hospitalized with COVID-19. Everyone was kind and helpful during a stressful extended stay. Given all the stress of the pandemic and restrictions, I found the team both responsive and available. Parking is convenient as is the location. For a smaller regional operation, everything is run very smoothly. They brought deliveries to the room and helped me in when I got locked out. Functional and as expected in every way for a regional operation, there is a laundry room on first floor and convenient side entrance and semi-private outdoor patios on the first floor. High fives to the entire staff at this convenient location.
Definitely below average

This hotel is not up to the standard of a Courtyard Marriott hotel. It is an older property that has clearly not been well-maintained. They are doing some improvements on the outside of the building and in the lobby, so maybe this hotel is finally getting some much-needed attention and will be better in the future. For now though, it is definitely not up to what you would expect from a Marriott Courtyard hotel. My room had several problems. In the bathroom, there were lose floor tiles and wall repairs had been made and then painted over with paint that didn't match. My room had a small balcony, but the sliding door to access the balcony was extremely difficult to open - and it didn't have a lock, just a security bar. The AC was a window unit and completely inadequate. It's August in SC - good AC in a hotel is a must. The Bistro was mostly closed during my visit - not sure if that was COVID-related or for another reason. One morning they did have basic coffee and a limited number of breakfast items for sale. Other mornings the Bistro was closed completely.
Not up to the Marriott standard

We had booked a one bedroom because we had a foster child that had to sleep in a separate room. Our plan was for her to sleep in the pull out couch in the living room. When we arrived, we were told that there had been damage to the room so there was no TV in the bedroom. We asked about other rooms, but this was the only one available. So we took it. The wallpaper was peeling. The living room had one small single loveseat. No other furniture. Not even anywhere for three of us to sit to watch TV. When opened, the loveseat mattress was so bad, the minute you sat on it, it went down completely, so essentially, it was like sleeping on the floor. We couldn't get the temperature to regulate, and in the bedroom, whoever slept near the door area was blasted with air. The door to the bedroom doesn't close, no doorframe. No privacy. The bed in the bedroom was uncomfortable. I usually choose Marriott because they have great beds. Not this one. The only thing good about the place was that if the door had closed, it was possible to walk to the bathroom without going through the bedroom. However, I will NEVER stay here again, and Marriott needs to reassess whether they want their name on this hotel.
P00R HOUSEKEEPING, POOL CLOSED

We started out in a room that reeked of smoke (supposed to be a nonsmoking hotel). Front desk staff graciously offered to move us to another room. Second room had dirty takeout food containers stacked on the balcony and I discovered a piece of shredded cheese on my nightstand!!! And filth all over the door handle. Back to the front desk. They were wonderful and understanding, she went so far as to offer to call around to another hotel. But we decided to try the third room which was nicer (except for the water left in the ice bucket). With covid there is supposed to be increased cleaning but NOT the case here. We intentionally booked here bc it advertised a pool but it was not open bad experience, don't recommend
