The best experience steps from the Vatican
We couldn't have asked for a better experience at Candia Inn. They arranged for a driver to take us to straight to the hotel from Fiumicino airport, and back again when we checked out. The breakfast vouchers to the downstairs coffee shop really let you experience the way the Italians do it and it was amazing! The rooms are spacious and clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and management was available to answer any questions and give us suggestions on sights to see around Rome. If you want to experience true Italian food (and not the ones to attract tourists), definitely ask and they'll be more than happy to share. Overall, I'd recommend Candia Inn to all my friends and family. Definitely going to stay there again in the future!
Great location
Great location, just outside the Vatican wall. Rooms were spacious and very clean, had all you needed for your stay. Payed for breakfast but was not given the breakfast vouchers for the first morning. Tried to get in contact with the owners as they are not on site but was not contacted back. Only got the vouchers for the second morning as came back to the hotel early and a member of staff was waiting for another check in. No apology or an attempt to rectify the problem.
45 minutes waiting on the street...
We booked this place and let the staff know our arrival was at about 5 pm. We arrived at 4:50 pm and rang the bell. Nobody was where. We called the number and notified our arrival. A lady said: 15 minutes. We waited. After 15 minutes nothing. We called again. The lady said: 2 minutes. 15 minutes later still nothing. It was cold and we were tired, in the middle of the curb, right in front of the garbage bins. We called two more times and every time she said: 2 minutes. The guy arrived almost one hour after our arrival, he did not even apologize. He invented excuses. We were very tired and angry, because they treated us like stupids. Horrible check in, disrespectful and arrogant staff. NOT RECOMMENDED
great residential b&b near the vatican museums & basilica
this is a converted apartment into a 3 room hotel in a residential but urban rome building. it was a perfect arrangement for our group of 6 people. it is about 15' walk to the vatican museums, 20' walk to st. peter square. ample of shops, mini-markets and restaurants around the neighborhood. free good breakfast is served from the bakery a few doors from the building. there is no common area. the rooms are spacious, clean and modern. each room has its own lock and restroom. restroom is totally clean and modern with automatic towel rack warmer & high water pressured shower! great location, rooms, service & value. definitely will stay here again.
Excellent rooms and service
When we arrived, we didn't expect rooms as nice as these to be in this building. They look like 4*hotelrooms. Very clean, tastefully furnished and decorated and with everything you need, like air-conditioning, hair-dryer, tv and kettle.The wifi also works perfectly. And the icing on the cake is the breakfast you get at an amazing italian bakery/pastry shop next door.
