More about the hotel

I guess you get what you pay for. The room was clean and linen changed every day which was nice. Was quite hard to check in as couldn't find the entrance for the hostel. I ended up calling them and they said I had to check in at their hotel nearby first. The advertisement said we could check in at 1200-1300 but the room wasn't ready which was quite annoying because that's why we chose the place. They said we could leave bags at reception for an hour until room ready so we went and had lunch. Came back to reception. Absolutely no one was there and our bags just in the hallway left unattended. then they gave us instructions to get to the hostel which were quite confusing as was in Italian. She could have seriously walked the 400m to the hostel to show us where to go. Eventually found our room. It has air conditioning but you have to pay an extra 5 euro a night if you use it which wasn't advertised. the shower also doesn't have consistent hot water (if you run the sink tap at the same time as shower that somehow keeps it hot a bit longer though). Close to train station but that's about it.
Awful place to stay.. don´t go there!
We (me and my boyfriend) were in the hostel for three nights. First of all, it is very expensive for what it actually delivers. Location is quite bad (at least to walk arround at night). We arrived and the room was very dirty (though more or less clean the next two days). Everything seemed to be falling apart or on the verge of breaking. The shower had unsteady hot water. We had breakfast at our last morning in the hostel and got yelled at for taking too much of only one type of cheese. They announce to have free wifi, but this applies only for the lobby of the hotel that is the owner of the hostel. So. to have internet access, you need to walk a bit until you reach the hotel. When we were at the hotel, the staff gave us the password for one router (that worked very poorly) and only in the last day did another clerk give us a password for a reasonably working router. By the way, the door to the hostels corridor stays locked and it is quite difficult to open. So, there is a chance that you will wake up in the middle of the night with someone doing a lot of noise to open the door.
Relatively ok stay
We spent 2 nights in Rome and booked at Hostel Pink Floyd. However, when we turned up with the booking at the reception of the Hotel Hollywood next door, then we were getting a room in the hotel instead. We went to see the room and everything was okay. It was at 6th floor and the view was great. The room was ok clean. The shared bathroom was also ok. Nothing special.. there were what was needed. A toilet, shower and sink and the size was good. There was a small kitchen with a fridge, table with 4 chairs, and 2 el-stoves (did check if they worked). In the cupboard we found a few utensils and glasses. So basically we had what we needed.
One of the worst Hostel I've been to
This is definitly one of the worst hostel I've been to. Don't trust the ad on hostel world, it is a lie. First the hostel is more like a seperate house and the reception is in another hotel (probably the same owner). We booked a room for two and ask specialy for a large bed. When we arrived the guy told us that he didn't know that and that we had two seperate beds but once we arrived in the bedroom, the two beds were gather into one. The beds were broken, most of the lames were broken and replace by folden blankets. The result is an bed that looks like the Alpes! There are no internet in the room and no computer available. If you want internet you need to go to the reception with your own laptop, smartphone, tablet... If you need the computer of the reception, well good luck they will never give it to you. We had to go to an internet cafe just to log on a website and print our ticket for the coloseum. They will print for you the tickets only if you can send it by email. The people are not very nice and eager to help you. We were suppose to have th AC and th TV but none of them were working but that's a good thing because th only electric outlet was for the TV. The hostel is located nere roma termini which is not a very good neighboorhood but useful to get the train to go to the airport. To sum up, don't gp there you can easily find a much better hostel
Pink floyd Hostel
The staff was helpful and willing to give advice for visiting many touristic areas!!! The room was clean, well-ventilated and hot shower was available anytime. Soundproofing was moderate but in general it was quiet. The area around termini is not so nice but metro and buses provide access to almost everything you want to check out in Rome. We totally recommend it!
