Uncomfortable bed
Reviewed 14 july, 2022
We stayed here while traveling and heading to Crater Lake. Staff was friendly. The place was outdated. Our room had a good view. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was an overall awkward experience due to it being so outdated and the bed being so uncomfortable.

A Decent Little Motel... could be improved
Reviewed 7 may, 2022
While the images on the website might not show this, this HIE property is a motel with doors opening to outside walkways. This may not be an issue in some climates but when it is blowing cold rain or snow it can make a mess of carrying things to/from the car, and from coming up from pool or hot tub. The breakfast selection was limited, and seating area inadequate. Service was professional, but certainly not overly friendly. With limited options in the Roseburg area (I have stayed at 4 different hotels in the area), and prices on the high side, this property was selected by price. But I will choose to pay more elsewhere on future visits. It's not that it's a bad option, it's just not my favorite in the area.

All-around great hotel

Wow, I never expected a Holiday Inn to be this nice. All of the rooms (I think) overlook the river. We had a nice corner one with a terrace. The room itself was spacious, well appointed with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, a bathtub, and super comfortable beds and pillows. The amenities include an indoor swimming pool with warm water, a large outdoor jacuzzi, and a gym. The free breakfast was very good and included pancakes, omelettes, sausage and warm cinnamon rolls. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean, comfortable, quiet...and a wonderful river setting.

We rented three rooms for three nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. Because we have family in the area, we have had many Roseburg stays in many hotels and this was among the best. Clean, spacious, updated rooms. Phenomenal beds. Great water pressure in the shower!!(We're from California). The river view was lovely and the backdoor actually opened to a small balcony...fresh air option is always appreciated. Room entry was from an outdoor hallway, which I thought would be noisy, but wasn't, despite the hotel being quite full. Reasonable rates for dogs & a decent, hot breakfast. What's not to love? We will be back.

Needs Much Improvement

I stayed here on an overnighter on a road trip to Portland. I've never had much luck with Holiday Inns, but didn't have a lot of choices given how recently I booked my trip. Unfortunately, this hotel only confirmed my belief that Holiday Inns are best avoided. Room was very dark, very worn-out, and not particularly clean. The spray arm in the shower wouldn't stay put and flew all over the place, getting water everywhere. When I sopped up the water with a towel, the towel was filthy... meaning the floor was not cleaned properly (if at all). Noise level was also very bad, as if there's no sound insulation between rooms or from floor to floor. Close proximity to the freeway makes for a somewhat convenient, if not exactly peaceful, location. I'll give them an extra star for the nice view of the river, which was the room's sole saving grace. Overall, however, definitely not worth the absurd $200+ per night charge for what you get (seriously, a room at this level should have cost less than half that). Roseburg is a quirky place - the setting is stunning, but the town itself feels rather tired and run down. They seem to have an inordinate number of cheap mom & pop motels there - almost any of which would have probably been an improvement over the Holiday Inn. Skip this one.
