Not Quite a Holiday

The first room to which we were assigned had a musty odor. We requested a change in rooms. From the 1 king we went to 2 queens. No big deal, but there was no night stand on one side of the bed, there was no drain stop in the tub. The former restaurant was closed and the indoor pool was half drained. The picture was that it almost felt like a semi-abandoned hotel. The hot tubs were also unavailable for use. We kind of felt that there should have been an advance notice of this, or an adjustment on the bill. We’ve stayed in nicer HI Expresses.
Avoid this place!!

Where do we start? Dirty rooms, soiled sheets, no noise insulation. The whole hotel is in such state of disrepair you want to avoid it at all costs. I can't believe why this hotel is still affiliated with Holiday Inn
A dreary, pathetic place

This was the only place I could get a reservation for this busy fall weekend on short notice. I knew not to expect much, having stayed here once before, Way past its prime, if it ever had one. The restaurant was closed (probably no great loss) as was the pool. The place reeked of marijuana. The carpets were stained and dirty and looked to be from the 1970's, and not in a good way. The room was dirty, there were some dead bugs on the sheets, a few things were broken (see picture.) Hard to even enjoy the coffee when the trash can was overflowing with garbage. Never again, even if there is nothing else.
Avoid this place! Advice from platinum elite member.

Horrible hotel. Dirty. Understaffed. Disgusting. Cigarettes smell everywhere. Wet dog smell everywhere. Pillow cases & sheets NOT CHANGED. Other guests hairs everywhere. Word on street- hotel was opened up to the homeless. Avoid this place! Absolutely the worst holiday inn express we ever stayed at. I’m a huge fan of the chain and this location should be removed from the IHG directory. Will be speaking with owner or manager in the morning- not expecting that he/she will actually care. Shame on this place for being a crappy hotel.
Wish I had read previous reviews before booking

I truly wish I had read these reviews before visiting. Filthy is the right word to describe this place. We were in room 243 and apparently somebody at some point had thrown blue paint all over the room because there were bits of blue paint all over the furniture, curtains, walls, picture frames, etc. The furniture was filthy and worn out, and the bathroom wasn't cleaned very well. The website said the pool and hot tub were closed, but they were open. Thank goodness I brought my bathing suit anyway because I would have been even more pissed off!
