GREAT LOCATION AND HOMELY RECEPTION...
Opinión escrita el 21 de Decembre de 2017
Chose this hotel because of its good reviews and we were not disappointed. Saarburg is a beautiful town and the hotel is right in the centre. We were given a choice of rooms, both of which were more than adequate, but we selected the one with a small balcony over looking the town. The room was spacious, well appointed and of a very good standard. We had a friendly reception on arrival, and help with the parking meter at the public car park which is only a few meters away. We dined at the hotel, and without doubt, we had one of the best dining experiences whilst travelling tho Germany, the food was of a very high standard, and reasonably priced. This hotel and its great team deserve the high ratings it gets.
Quality and Kindness

My wife broke her foot just prior to our holiday and was in a surgical boot, severely restricting her mobility. On our arrival at the hotel we were shown every available room so we could choose which the best was for us in the circumstances. And then in the evening and at breakfast we were seated so that the least effort was required to move.
This kindness and concern was met in equal measure by the quality of the accommodation (a realty big well-appointed room with a sofa and armchairs) and the quality of the meals. The breakfast buffet must be one of the best we have ever had for the variety and tastiness of the offering – certainly the best we have had in a small family run hotel such as the Saarburger Hof.
The evening meal was outstanding and to our delight it turned out that if you order a main course you automatically get a green salad, dips and bread. We were too full for a dessert each and so asked to share one between us, at which point the hotel owner, who was serving at the time, said he would rustle something up. Cue a massive plate with little bits of every dessert on the menu – accompanied by a glass of dessert wine each on the house. It was a lovely warm evening and sitting out enjoying the meal was a real treat. I should also mention that the house pinot noir is really, really good.
We had thought that a trip to Saarburg would be a once only experience, but as a result of this stay we are already planning a return trip.
Beautiful, Friendly, Family Hotel

We stayed here for just one night before a cycling trip down the Saar and Moselle rivers, and cannot speak highly enough of the friendly service we received. We had booked in advance.....but for the wrong month! We were a month too late, but there was no problem, as they had one spare room. We offered to pay for the missed night, which was our fault, but the proprietor wouldn't let us.
Our room was lovely, and very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We stayed on a Friday night, and the hotel is in the town centre, so the noise was inevitable, and quite manageable.
Herr Diewald is a very nice man, and were allowed to leave our car in his covered car-park for Euros 5 per night.
We often drive down to the south of Germany to visit family, and we will DEFINITELY stop off in this hotel again, as it is 'on our way' there.
Saarburg is a really beautiful town, and well worth a visit. This hotel will not disappoint you!
