Wonderful Staff!

This is a great property with wonderful staff. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to be helpful. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. Even though you are close to the freeway, the room is very quiet. The location is perfect if you are attending an event at the Golden One Center. It is an easy five minute walk through a shopping area. You are also within walking distance to many restaurants. Also, we felt very safe walking to restaurants, shopping and Golden One.

Excellent hotel with excellent location. Located just steps away from Golden 1 center. This hotel was extremely clean & comfortable. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff, Ranisha. She made our trip more interesting with her advice & tips about the city, shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance. It was such a pleasure to interact with someone who loved their job and who provided us with Wonderful Customer Service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody, because Ranisha's Customer Service was Stellar. It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again Ranisha for going just that little step extra for the guests !!!

EXTRA EXPENSES

Booked through a third party and let my cousin check us in but I paid for the room. They asked her for her card and then just swiped it for a $50 deposit. WHY IS THERE A $50 DEPOSIT WHEN THE ROOM IS PAID FOR. And if you think about it, why would they take HER card and not the card that paid for the room? Their excuse is it’s booked through a third party so they don’t know. So any random person could’ve checked into the room I paid for because I only put MY NAME when I booked the room. What kind of system is that? Then they’re going to charge $20-$40 for parking ON TOP of me paying for the room? I’ve stayed in LA and they don’t even charge for parking for their guests. Don’t eat their crappy $30 breakfast either. Do yourself a favor and go to a diner. Lowlights of review: - $20-$30 parking on top of booking - $50 deposit even AFTER booking your room - overpriced cereal breakfast

I would not have paid to say there.

Stayed there for 2 nights for business meetings in one of their conference rooms. If I was in Sacramento for a personal trip and had to pay, I would not have stayed here. In a great location (walkable around downtown, old town, next to the Golden 1 Center). My room was clean and free of any damage as far as I could tell, but I echo the comments that the rooms and hotel overall look dated and unimaginative. The conference room I attended, and other conference rooms I noticed (they are all in a particular area on the bottom floor) look much newer, so why won't they renovate other areas of the hotel? Our catered lunches were on the 16th floor--yes we had to go from the 1st to the 16th to eat lunch, and the room was not quite large enough in my opinion. Speaking of food, I did not eat at their restaurant, but breakfast is not only not free but unreasonable ($28 for a buffet? Seriously?) The room did have nice views 270 degree views of the city. I will say the elevators seemedfast to me, unlike what some in other reviews stated. My room did not have a refrigerator or microwave, which I thought were included in all the rooms. The rooms are not for light sleepers. Not only are they noisy (I was on the 7th floor; I would have hated to have stayed on the 2nd), as the hotel is next to a freeway, but the curtains do not close all the way. I have never seen that in a hotel/motel before. The lights from the parking garage and other buildings shined brightly into the room at night. If you stay there, bring a sleeping mask and earplugs! The parking garage is a bit of a walk from the hotel. You can park closer to the hotel, but then you have to pay a lot more. Not pleased that they have tiered parking prices based on distance. Hallway ceilings were low, looked to be less than 7 feet (I guess the basketball players who come to town to play the Kings don't stay here). Odd enough, but the parking garage ceiling was low as well--maybe it was 7 over feet but it felt a little creeping driving underneath those concrete berms that seemed so low. The prices are less than other nearby hotels as others have mentioned, but they are far from budget hotel prices. Overall, the hotel has a level of classiness and professionalism, but too many oddities and drawbacks.

I stayed here one night before catching a train the following morning. It was a good location, close to downtown so I was able to walk to meet a friend for dinner. It’s also very close to the Amtrak station and the arena. Pros: Good location Reasonable price compared to other options Clean, though a used K-cup was left in my room’s Keurig machine. Room had a refrigerator Really friendly staff Cons: Older property with low popcorn-type ceilings, outdated color schemes and old, noisy elevators I wanted to check out the pool since I got in earlier than I had planned but, after I finally found it, it was closed with an out of order sign on the door so that was disappointing. It’s irritating when properties continue to advertise amenities that they don’t really offer. The entrance and drop off area are very confusing (especially with construction going on) and I found myself entering a paid parking garage (which is the hotel garage) but I wanted to unload before parking. I noticed a lot of people coming into the entry area against the one-way arrows on the pavement. The hotel entrance facing the garage was out of order (?) so it meant a little bit of an extra walk to use the main entrance. All in all, this is an average place and I’d consider staying here again (especially if the pool was open). Many Holiday Inns are pretty old and outdated now (one near me was recently imploded to make room for redevelopment and another one nearby is looking at the same fate).
